I had a big stamping event over the weekend with a few of my demonstrator friends. We called it Cabin Fever Stamp Camp, because here in Wisconsin our winters can be pretty long, and by this time of year we’re pretty tired of spending so much time inside. Thus, an event to cure ourselves of our Cabin Fever, a chance to get together with other like minded people to stamp the day away! We stamped 10 cards, played some games, had prize patrol, had 4 great demonstrations, lots of awesome displays, and just an overall great time with old friends and new.
This is one of the cards everyone made. With less than 1 week left of sale-a-bration, I wanted to show a fun way to use the Bubble & Fizz Designer Series paper and the coordinating Shimmer Ribbon Pack. The bear is from the We Must Celebrate stamp set from the Occasions catalog. The stamp features a row of four fun loving animals standing in a line, but I only wanted the bear for this card, so I carefully cut the stamp apart into 4 separate images. The bottles of “bubbly” are fussy cut from the Bubble & Fizz Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper as is the printed paper in the background. I tied a bow with the Bermuda Bay Sale-a-bration Shimmer Ribbon because it coordinates so well, and finished it off with the sentiment from Bubble Over.
I know you’ll be asking, so I’ll share it now. The card base is Whisper White cut 4-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. The Bermuda Bay layer is 4″ x 4″ and then Whisper White 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ and the DSP is 3-1/2″ 2-1/2″. I used the Lots of Labels Framelits and then popped them off the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals making sure the top to bottom card height did not exceed 5-1/2″ (so that it would fit in a standard envelope).
More fun from Cabin Fever
We had colorful spring goodie bags that held a pen and order form and was a great place for them to stash all of their finished cards. We made a total of 10 cards.
Of course, you can’t have stamping without chocolate, so I filled the Silver Mini Gable Boxes with lots of chocolate and wrapped a piece of the Foil Frenzy Designer Series paper around each one and finished them off with ribbon and a tag that says “Chocolate makes everything better”, (from the More than Chocolate stamp set).
We had a small shape attached to the back of each tag. We then drew the different shapes out of a bag and which ever shapes we drew out, they got to pick a prize.
We gave away over lots and lots of Designer Series paper packages.
Of course after all the stamping and winning of prizes we had to nourish their bodies, so we had a taco Salad Bar with lots of fruits and veggies and bars. YUMMM!
Here are my partners in crime for our Cabin Fever Stamp camp:
Kim Vale, Cathy Sonntag, Me and Cindy O’Connor.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing more cards from cabin fever including a new way to use the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper. See you then.
