Big Shot 3 times

I must say, the Big Shot is by far my most used product that I have.  I use it on nearly every project I make because of the beautiful texture it can add with the use of embossing folders.  The Big Shot is also fabulous to cut out simple or intricate designs when paired with our Framelits or Thinlits.  Today’s Card was inspired By Lynn Klitzke a fellow demonstrator.  This card uses the Big Shot 3 times.

Stampin' Up! Paisleys & Posies stamp set, Cable Knit Embossing Folder

I’ve used the Cable Knit Embossing Folder for the texture in the background.  Next the sentiment from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set was stamped then die cut using the Paisleys Framelits Dies.  If you don’t own the Big Shot yet, I really believe it’s the very best investment you can make for your creative needs.

Ugly Sweater with Cable Knit Embossing Folder

Decorative holiday sweaters used to be fashionable, but more and more these sweaters have been getting a bad rap being dubbed as Ugly Sweaters.  Some people even go as far as purchasing a holiday sweater from a thrift store and then decking it out with lots of bling and gaudiness to win the title of Ugliest Holiday Sweater.  I thought it would be fun to create a more gentle version of an Ugly Sweater with the Cable Knit Embossing Folder.

Stampin' Up! Cable Knit Embossing Folder, Perfect Pines Framelits

Just the Basic Facts

I ran a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Real Red card stock through the Cable Knit Embossing Folder then I cut out a triangular shape from the top edge to create the neck hole.  Every good sweater needs to have the edges bound, so I cut 3/8″ wide pieces of card stock and scored them every 1/8″ of  an inch.  These bands were attached to the bottom edge and also at the neck.  I then used the Perfect Pines Framelits to cut a Christmas Tree from the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack.  This was attached to the sweater allowing the red from the sweater to peek though the tree so they looked like ornaments.  The star on top of the tree is the Metallic Enamel Shapes Star whcih is adhesive on the back so it sticks really well to the sweater.  The final detail is the “Tis the Season” sentiment which comes from the Peaceful Pines stamp set.

Tis the Season to create your own Ugly Sweater Card

I would love for you to create an ugly sweater card of your own and email me a photo of your card.  I will post them on my blog on November 25th (exactly 1 month before Christmas).  I will draw a winner from all that send me a photo and the winner will get a surprise package of product from me valued at $50.  What do you say?  Are you ready to create?

Country Livin’ Masculine Card

asculine cards are always a big hit simply because we tend not to make as many cards for the men in our lives as we do the ladies.  The Country Livin’ stamp set has great images to use for cards for guys.  I love the rustic looking pick up truck That’s been lightly water colored with Aqua Painters.  The fold on this card is one I use quite a bit.  Scroll down to see the measurements for the fold.
