I wanted to share with you some fun samples other demonstrators made using stamps and supplies from the Occasions catalog. The items in the Occasions catalog are only available until June 1st.
Gate Fold Photo Tutorial
I had posted a card sample of a “Gate” fold using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch on February 21st but I never gave directions on how to make the card, so I thought I’d post another sample of the “Gate” fold today with a little photo tutorial.
Start with a standard 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card base. Make a little pencil mark at
2 3/4″ on both 5 1/2″ sides of the card stock.

Now, insert the card stock all the way into the punch (you’ve got to wiggle and squirm it in there). Now line up the little pencil mark with the middle scallop and punch.
This is what it will look like. Do this on both 5 1/2″ sides of the card stock.
Place the punched card stock on the Paper Trimmer and carefully trim off the pieces above and below the scalloped area.
With the scoring blade, score the scallop tab and fold it back.
Turn the card stock around and line up the left edge of the card stock at the 4 1/4″ mark and score. You now have the completed card base and you’re ready to stamp and embellish it as you choose.

Oh the things you can do…
I get silly happy when I see or figure out new ways to use our product. That’s what my Tools of the Trade classes are all about. Here I used the Scallop Tag Topper punch to add a fun embellishment to the top of an oval frame. It’s way easier that you might think.
First you have to shimmy the cad stock all the way into the punch,
and it will look like this.
Next, put the Oval Framelits under the “scallop tab” so the cutting part of the framelit won’t cut the tab off. Run it through the Big Shot,
and there you have a scalloped embellishment on your oval frame.
