A high school friend of mine has a daughter who is getting married Memorial Day Weekend. This is the invitation Ben & Jocelyn commissioned me to make. The couple met at a county fair while in 4-H so they are celebrating their special day with a “State Fair” themed event. I finished the invitations last month and the past few days I’ve been busy with alterations for her wedding gown as well as a few prom dresses. It’s been fun, but I need to get back into my stamp room and be creative with stamps and ink.
Blooper Warningr: Chevron Overload!
There’s a lot going on with this card. It’s one I designed for my Silver & Gold card class but it didn’t make the cut. As I said before, I love the Foil papers embossed, it just looks so impressive, so this time I used the Chevron embossing folder. Then I thought how we all like things that coordinate, so I got out Positively Chevron background stamp and went to town with that. Right there is when I should have just scrapped it all, but no, I kept going and added some silver bakers twine and a dahlia embellishment. Really? Sometimes you just have to know when to toss in the towel.
What are some of your blooper cards? Email me a photo and who knows I just may post it.
Early Christmas?
I know I’ve been complaining about it taking so very long for spring to arrive this year and now I go and post a picture of a Christmas card and it’s a full 8 months until Christmas. Sorry but when I was designing cards for my Silver & Gold class I just had to make a silver and blue card for Christmas. I think embossing the Silver Foil paper makes for such a stunning effect. I also love the oval fame look of the card as the tree is actually stamped on the inside of the card.
