Ready for Convnetion

Yay, I’m in Salt Lake and ready for the Stampin’ Up! Convention.  I planned to post a couple photos, but right now I’m dealing with some technical difficulty, that would be the fact that I brought the wrong cord for my camera, so I can’t get photos off my camera.  I will have to revert to my phone camera because I have the right cord for that.

Anyway, back to talk about convention.  I’m here with my sister and partner in crime, Peggy Murwin and her daughter, my niece, Katie Campbell.  Today will mostly be a day of whatever we want because the official festivities don’t start until tonight.  We have general session followed by our opening social.  We are attempting to set a Guinness World Record at the event for the most greeting cards sent at one time from one location.

Check back tomorrow for more about convention.

I enjoy taking my color palette from the awesome Designer Series Paper Stampin’ Up! has to offer.  This cards uses Birthday Basics DSP. so I used the Raspberry Ripple as the main accent color but I pulled in Bermuda Bay, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, and Crisp Cantaloupe in the banners along the side.  Don’t forget to take advantage of the buy 3 get one FREE offer on DSP this month.

The Happiest 5K on the Planet

OMG can I just say I had a blast this past weekend with my daughter Nicole and some a couple of great friends in the Twin Cities.  I participated in my first 5K called The Color Run.  Over 20,000 people participated in the event.  We all started out in white t-shirts and as the race went on we would passed a color area where we were squirted with powder in various colors.  By the end of the event there were 20,000 rainbow clad participants.  There were little kids in strollers and we even saw a sweet elderly lady with a walker. The weather was glorious all weekend long, I got to spend time with both my kiddos and we helped raise money for a great cause.   Money from this event went to kids whose parents have or had cancer.  The kids get to attend a week long camp in northern Wisconsin.

Tomorrow I’ll post another card for you to fall in love with, then tomorrow evening I’ll be headed out to Salt Lake City for the Stampin’ Up! Convention.  This is the 25th Anniversary of Stampin’ Up!  I’ll be learning lots of great things while I’m there.  Don’t worry I plan on taking lots of pictures and I’m bringing my computer so I can post about all the fun we’re having.
