In case you’re not up to date on your Disney movies, this is Olaf, he’s a snowman from the movie “Frozen”. He’s a goofy looking and wonderfully funny snowman who just loves the sun. Over 80 of these Olaf’s were created on Saturday night, when Peggy and I taught a mini class on it at the “One of a Kind Stamping & Scrapbooking Show” in Madison.
We actually started our day out by teaching two classes in the morning and tow classes in the afternoon. We had a quick bite to eat and then it was off to the “Create -n-Keep” event where 8 different vendors taught a mini class to 10 crafters. After 25 minutes everyone got up from their table and moved on to the next table in a round robin format. So in a matter of 3 1/2 hours 80 crafters got to make Olaf and take him home to fill with treats.
I promised everyone I’d post the parts and pieces needed to recreate him as well as instructions and of course I know many of you that didn’t attend the show would enjoy it too, so here goes:
You will need the following pieces to create Olaf:
2 White pieces cut from the Curvy Keepsake Box Framelit
2 White pieces cut from the Curvy Keepsake Box Framelit
2 White — 3/4″ Circle Punch (feet)
2 White — 1 3/4″ Circle Punch (Body)
2 White — Extra Large Oval Punch (Head)
1 White — Large Oval Punch (part of head/cheeks)
2 White — Extra Large Oval Punch (Head)
1 White — Large Oval Punch (part of head/cheeks)
1 White scrap — tooth
3 Black — 1/2″ Circle Punch (coal) with a white “highlight” drawn with gel pen
1 Black — Large Oval Punch — cut in half (mouth)
2 Black — Owl Builder Punch (behind googly eyes)
1 Pumpkin Pie scrap — nose — I punched with a 1/2″ circle punch and then punched a second time to get a small arch for his nose — draw lines on with a marker to make it look like a carrot
3 Early Espresso scraps — hair and arms — I snipped free-hand for the shape of arms and hair
3 Black — 1/2″ Circle Punch (coal) with a white “highlight” drawn with gel pen
1 Black — Large Oval Punch — cut in half (mouth)
2 Black — Owl Builder Punch (behind googly eyes)

For Olaf’s Bottom section: Put together the curvy Keepsake Box according to Framelit instructions. Attach both 3/4″ circles to bottom of the box for the feet.
For Olaf’s mid section: Attach both arms to the 1 3/4″ circle and then attach the second 1 3/4″ circle to the backside of the circle to cover where the arms are attached (so it looks better from the back).
Attach midsection to bottom section and attach “coal”
For Olaf’s head: Attach mouth to Extra Large Oval them attach white scrap “teeth” so that it hangs down into mouth area.
Attach Large Oval to face covering top part of mouth.
Attach carrot to the center of the oval and black circles (for part of eyes).
Attach hair to the backside of the head and then attach second Extra Large Oval piece to cover the back (so that it looks neater). Attach head on top of his midsection and finally, in order to bring him to life, attach his googly eyes.
WOOHOO — you made Olaf too. Everyone will love him — especially filled with a couple of treats.
