Butterflies Thinlits are Amazing

If you’ve noticed the Butterflies Thinlits in the Occasions Catalog, I’m sure you loved it right away just like I did.  I wanted to share with you a little different way to use the Thinlits.  For this card I die cut the middle sized butterfly in Basic Black card stock and attached it to the Whisper White layer with our Multi-purpose (green) Glue.  Next I colored in the open spaces in the butterfly with Blendabilites.  I used the light and medium shades of Pumpkin Pie and the light shade of Daffodil Delight.  I also colored the pearls with the Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities.

I was a little scared of these Thinlits when I first saw them, because of the intricate design and how hard it might be to poke out all those little pieces.  Well, I have an awesome tip for you on how to make that easier.  You’ll build a “sandwhich” to run through the Big Shot in this order:
                                        1. Magnetic Platform
                                        2. Acrylic Plate
                                        3. Dryer Sheet
                                        4. Card Stock
                                        5. Waxed Paper
                                        6.Thinlit
                                        7. Acrylic Plate

When you run the layers through like this you’ll find that the waxed paper prevents the card stock from sticking to the inside of the thinlit and it will peel right out.  The dryer sheet collects all of the little pieces – in fact when you pull the cut out design off the dryer sheet you’ll find all the little pieces stuck to the dryer sheet.  If there are a few remaining still attached to the butterfly, you can easily pop them out of the butterfly by simply “flicking” the butterfly with your finger.  So simple and so easy.

  1. The die fits in between the cardstock and the waxed paper?

  2. I'm sorry Parker, I left out the most important part; where the Thinlits die goes. I've updated the post, but in answer to your question, the die goes between the waxed paper and the top acrylic plate.
