If you’ve been following my blog for long, you’ve probably noticed that I like
layers. There, I’ve said it… I love layers! With that being said, let me share with you how to make a layer for our new Ornate Tag Topper Punch.
First for the Very Vanilla piece that I stamped the image Kindness is Love, it is cut 4″ long and 2″ wide which perfectly slides into the “track” of the punch.
Next for the Wisteria Wonder layer that goes behind, I cut this 4 1/4″ long and
2 1/4″ wide. Notice how it’s too wide to slide into the tack of the punch?
You stand the punch up on its end, and carefully shimmy the card stock into the punch making sure it’s inserted all the way in and that you’ve got it positioned in the center (see how you’ve got an equal amount on the right and left side of the track)? Now punch.
What you end up with is a “normal” tag for the Very Vanilla and a Wisteria Wonder tag with its “hair” sticking up. Just give it a hair cut and snip those two extra pieces off. Now you’ve got tags that layer perfectly except the hoes don’t line up. I fixed that by threading the ribbon through the Very Vanilla piece first then ignore the hole in the Wisteria Wonder piece and just layer them together (the hole get’s covered up.)
Ta-da! a layered tag! What do you think?

Love your card but it looks like it is garden green behind the very vanilla. I didn’t realize it until I cut 16 in Westeria Wonder (following your directions and pictures). Lesson learned. Thanks again for sharing. I’m doing this card for an exchange.
