Sheltering Tree with a surprise fold

This is the second card we made at my Stampin’ Bingo Night.  It features the brand new stamp set from the Occasions Catalog called “Sheltering Tree”.  I really liked this set when I saw it, but let me tell you after playing with it, I now LOVE it.  It’s a super easy set to use and because it’s a photopolymer set, lining things up (like the swing to actually hang off the branch) is a breeze.

So, any way, let me tell you about this card.  I used Crisp Cantaloupe for the 5 1/2″ x 8″1/2″ card base which I cut out a frame using the Ovals Framelits, then I ran it through the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  The Whisper White inside of the card is cut 5 1/4″ x 8″ and scored at 4″.  Notice how the white insert opens up from the left instead of the right like most cards.  This works perfect so that you can see the tree through the frame on the front, but when you open the card all the way you’ve got room to write a note with out it detracting from the focal point of the card.

I’m so excited that in just a few short days you’ll be able to order this stamp set as well as all of the other brand new items in the Occasions Catalog while earning Sale-a-bration products for FREE.  These catalogs go live on Tuesday, January 6th.  Yippee!

  1. I agree with you. I made Spring, Summer and Fall cards. Will be making one for winter. The photopolymer stamps are wonderful. I found out that before stamping the flowers on the grass I can make the grass taller by moving the stamp up further. now I am going to see if I can make the tree taller. These stamps are a must have.
