On today’s card we have a beautiful sentiment and a stunning focal point, but in my opinion it’s the texture in the background that steals the show.
I cut strips of Pear Pizzazz, Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White that each measured 4″ wide and various heights. I stamped the sentiment from the hostess stamp set called “Happy Birthday, Everyone” in Elegant Eggplant and then ran each of the strips through the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. Everything is attached to the Wisteria Wonder card base. Next the focal point from Wild About Flowers was stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Wisteria Wonder, pinched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and layered on a circle that’s just a bit larger that was cut from the Circle Framelits. This layer was attached to the card with Dimensionals and embellished with the tiniest of pearls.
I love everything about this card: the color combo, the layout, the embossing, the flowers. I love it all!
Thanks Vicky, I really enjoy reading your comments and I'm glad you like my projects.
I am kind of new to the card making/stamping techniques so this may be a stupid question, but how do you get the flowers the different colors? Do you simply ink a portion of stamp in one area, then the other in another or are these 2 separate stamps?
Hi Jennie,
There’s no such thing as a stupid question. In this case the flowers and the stems are 2 separate stamps so they’re each inked up with different colors. If the image was stems and leaves together on one stamp, then the easiest way to get multiple colors would be to use the Stampin’ Write Markers and color directly onto the stamp then huff on the stamp to moisten the ink with your breath and stamp it on paper. I hope this makes sense.
