One of those days…

Yesterday, for the first time since I started my blog over 2 years ago, I did not do a blog post.  Oh don’t get me wrong, I had every intention of posting, but here’s how my day started….
It stormed throughout the night and I got up at my regular 5:15 am, washed my face and….the power went out.  I live in the country by a lake in a very small subdivision which means when we have no power, our water doesn’t work.  Lucky I had already put water on my wash cloth so I could get the cleanser off my face, in the dark).  I stumbled around until I found a flashlight in the linen closet and proceeded to get dressed in the dark.
When our power is out it can be out for long periods of time, so I didn’t want to open the refrigerator to get breakfast or fix lunch and start the warm up process in the fridge, besides that I couldn’t see much with the flashlight.  Of coarse with no power, I have no internet, so I can’t do a blog post.  I decide to pack up my make up and hair card products and head into work (I’m a patient care coordinator and hygienist at a dental office about 45 minutes away from home).  On the drive to work I realized I didn’t have my phone.  Oh my Gosh, I didn’t know how much I rely on that thing!  I also realize, I didn’t grab my laptop as I was planning on, so that I could post on my blog as soon as I got to work- (okay, I’ll post in the evening instead…)  As I’m driving to work I decide I better double check and make sure I have my glasses (don’t need them for distance, but I can’t read anything without them).  Good, my glasses were in my glass case.  I get to work by 6:30, wash up, brush my teeth, do my make up and hair and I’m ready to go, quite a bit earlier than normal, but I’ve got lots of stuff on my desk to get done, so no worries…. until, I open my glass case and find it’s my prescription sunglasses not my regular glasses.
Picture my walking around the office and working on the computer, reading reports… in sun glasses on a stormy cloudy morning.
Once other staff arrive, I am told one of our key staff members is leaving the practice and has given her resignation… very sad day:(
You don’t need all the details of the rest of the day, but just know it didn’t get any better as the day went on.  I didn’t have breakfast because the power was out, didn’t bring lunch because the power was out, worked through lunch because I was scrambling, left work at 7:00pm, got home at 7:45 hungry and tired and simply forgot about posting on my blog!

I’m so happy todays’ another day, and the power is on and I can get dressed with the lights on, and things will be better.  I will have a fun cadr to share with you tomorrow.
