I spent the weekend with some of my team members in a cottage on Lake Ripley in Cambridge, WI. We had a wonderful time together. The plan for the weekend was to do whatever we wanted to do. Some scrapbooked, some made cards, some just visited the whole weekend. I started out Friday night by making my “Founder’s Circle” quilt.
While at Founder’s Circle a few weeks ago, I watched Angie Juda as she made a quilt in just a few hours. Well, that was enough to get me to decide to make a quilt as a keepsake of Founder’s Circle.
What started out as a jelly roll (precut coordinated strips of fabric)….
…turned into this three hours later. Peggy made one too. I had so much fun making the first one, I whipped out a second one that night too. This is only the quilt top, I will have to get batting and backing for the quilt and have the layers put together.
I also worked on shoe box swaps that everyone brought. A shoe box swap is where each person designs a project and cuts enough supplies for each person. All the supplies and product to make the project are then put in a box, you grab a box and make the project and then you’re onto another box. There were 10 of my team members attending our get away so we each walked away with 10 new projects.
It was a fun weekend of crafting, laughing and strengthening relationships.
