Kleenex Box Holder

I’ve made a few comments over the past few weeks that my Stampin’ Studio at home is getting a face lift.  Well I am over the moon excited to tell you that it is now complete!   The colors in the room are Black and White with accents of Watermelon Wonder and Coastal Cabana (Coastal Cabana retired last year but it’s still a favorite of mine).   I spent the weekend decorating and making some accessories to go in the room.

This Kleenex Box Holder is one of the projects I made so that everything coordinates.  Wanna know how I made it?

You know that white card board that comes in every package of Designer Series Paper?  That’s what I used for the base so that it would be sturdy enough.  I cut 2 pieces 5 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ and scored them at 4 1/2″ and 9″.  I used Tear & Tape to attach these two pieces together to form the base of the box.

For the top of the box I used more of the card board, this time it’s cut 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 1/2″ on all for sides.  I trimmed off the corners with my Paper Snips and used the Oval Framelits and my Big Shot to give me the opening for the tissues to come out.  More Tear & Tape was used on the flaps to attach it to the inside of the base.  All that was left was to decorate so I layered the Watermelon Wonder Designer Paper from the 2015-2016 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack on Basic Black card stock and tied some of the Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon in a bow and attached it around the box.

Are you ready to see pictures of my Stampin’ Studio?  Be sure to come back tomorrow and I’ll show you around.
