Today’s card shows you one way to make the most of your Designer Series Paper, specifically the Candy Cane Lane DSP. I used the designer series paper as a background layer that the ginger bread house is on which is really cool because it looks like it’s snowing. The ginger bread house is not a stamp, its part of the print in the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper. That’s right, I did a little fussy cutting around the house, and popped it up with dimensionals.
Today’s Color Palette
Ready, Set, Cut
Crumb Cake: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ score at 4 1/4″ for card base
Early Espresso: 5″ x 3 3/4″
2 1/4″ x 3 1/3″
Real Red: 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″
Candy Cane Lane DSP: 2″ x 1 /4″ plus a piece that has the ginger bread house on it
Real Red 3/4″ Stitched Edge Ribbon: 6″
For the base of the card layer the Real Red on the Early Espresso card stock then layer on the card itself. Fussy cut the ginger bread house from the DSP and attach to the “snowy” crumb cake print with Dimensionals and layer this on the Early Espresso card stock. Tie a knot in the ribbon and wrap it around the ginger bread house layer securing it on the backside with adhesive. Attach half of a Delicate White Doily to the back side of the house layer and secure this entire layer to the card base with Dimensionals. Finally, stamp the sentiment from Stitched with Cheer in Real Red ink and die cut it with the Bunch of Banners Framelits and attach to the card with Dimensionals.
