Today’s project from my Coffee Break Suite Escape features an iced coffee. Here in Wisconsin it’s super hot and humid so an iced coffee is the only kind most people are drinking these days. To give the look of a clear cup of iced coffee, I cut the cup and domed lid shapes out of Vellum Cardstock with the Coffee Cups Framelits. Next I used Soft Suede ink with the Sponge Brayer and rolled the ink back and forth over the cup shape laying the ink darker at the bottom and lighter at the top of the cup. The next step was to add the ice cubes stamped in Soft Suede. Because the Vellum Cardstock doesn’t absorb Classic ink completely (some of it sits on top of the vellum) I attached the vellum to the card with the inked side down. When attaching Vellum be sure to be aware of the adhesive placement as it can show through the front side. I applied a very thin line of Multi-purpose Glue to the edges. The striped straw was cut out of the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper (DSP) with on of the dies from the Coffee Cup Framelits. The sentiment comes from the Coffee Cafe’ stamp set and then I added little ribbon banners using the Classic Weave Ribbon from the Coffee Break Suite. The final touch was the addition of the Glitter Enamel Dots.
