You can be a happy artist like Bob Ross

You remember Bob Ross.  He’s the soft-spoken guy painting happy clouds, mountains and trees on TV, using big house painting-type brushes and cooing smoothly “you can do it” to the audience. His Joy of Painting program is the most recognized, most watched TV art show in history.  If Bob was “painting”  with stamps today, I believe he would really love the Waterfront stamp set.  The images in the Waterfront stamp set mimic watercolor painting and they make creating gorgeous scenery a snap.

Stampin' Up! Waterfront stamp set, Stampin' Studio

You can move mountains, rivers, trees, you can determine what your world is like.  -Bob Ross

I stamped the images on Soft Sky cardstock using Wisteria Wonder for the majestic mountain, Old Olive for the lush land and pines, and Marina Mist and Island Indigo for the water.  I brought it all together by matting the “art work” in the same colors as the ink colors I used.  The Old Olive card base is cut 4-1/4″ x 11″ and is scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″ and folded in a “Z-fold”.  I added texture to the front panel with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder.

  1. Wonderful card – love this stamp set. I’ve been reluctant to use it because I knew I couldn’t do the work I’ve seen others do with it. Thanks for the instructions and encouragement.
