OMG, we had a great time earlier this week when I hosted a Saran Wrap Challenge Party at my Stampin’ Studio! What is a Saran Wrap Challenge you ask?
Well I ordered lots of Stampin’ Up! product (retiring and brand new upcoming items) and wrapped them in a Saran Wrap ball for a bit of friendly competition. One by one I wrapped each prize in a 2-3 foot piece of Saran Wrap, making a ball and adding another prize and more Saran Wrap, and another prize and so on until I had 40 prizes valued at nearly $400 wrapped into one large ball. Items like washi tape and rolls of ribbon and embellishments made their way into the ball, while things like Packages of Designer Series Paper and Framelits, and cardstock and stamp sets didn’t get wrapped into the ball. For the larger items, I wrote the name of the prize on a label and attached the label to a poker chip which got wrapped inside the ball.
All participants sat in a circle and one person put on oven mitts and started unwrapping the ball while the person to their right rolled two dice until they got doubles. Once doubles were rolled the person with the ball had to pass the ball onto the person to their left along with the oven mitts and the first person became the roller of the die. There was laughter and cheering as well as a bit of frustration when at times a person would just barely get the mitts on when the roller would get doubles. Everyone it attendance won at least one prize while some skilled unwrappers won as many as 6 prizes. Here’s Jeanne working hard at unwrapping the ball of goodies while Jean was rolling for doubles.
New Annual Catalogs were handed out and everyone made a “ring of color” which was a swatch of every color of cardstock available in the new catalogs.
It was a great night and now the pages of the catalog are being drooled over and wish lists are getting filled out in anticipation of June 1st when new items can be ordered beginning at 2:00 Central time on June 1st.
