Have you looked over the list of retiring product from the Holiday catalog? If so you may have noticed that the Buffalo Checks stamp is not on the list. That means it’s a carry over item and will still be available to order after January 3rd when the catalog ends…YAY!! Today I wanted to share with you how you can turn the Buffalo Check image into a pretty plaid.
I stamped the Buffalo Check stamp with Bermuda Bay ink on Whisper White cardstock. Next I used a ruler and the Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker and I drew lines on each side of the Bermuda Bay squares. Next I used one of our Journaling pens and drew lines through the middle of each white square. Voila! you’ve now got a pretty plaid! I attached the plaid on a Whisper White background and added a piece of Black Cording in the middle. Poppy Parade Textured Weave Ribbon made a pretty little bow to go across the plaid before adding a layer of Basic Black and the Bermuda Bay card base.
I used the Stamparatus to perfectly line up the Penguin and his hat from the Making Every Day Bright stamp set and then punched him out using the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. I attached him to the backside of a torn piece of Whisper White that I stamped the sentiment from the Spirited Snowman set. Next I cut a square with a window by using the Layering Squares Framelits and Poppy Parade cards stock and attached the penguin and snow pile to the backside of the frame with Snail Adhesive. Pool Party Cardstock and the Softly Falling Embossing Folder gave me the pretty texture I was looking for. I added a bit of shimmer (which is hard to see in the photo) by painting a dot of Wink of Stella on each snowflake. I finished the card off with a tiny heart punched from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, then attached it the the penguin with a Mini Glue Dot.
