When I saw the Grapefruit Grove & Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets in the Sale-a-bration brochure, I new I wanted to really show it off and incorporate the foil into a techniques class.

Card 1 features the Lovely Lipstick Foil that has been run through the Big Shot with the Lace Embossing Folder.  We then rubbed the Stazon Ink Pad over the embossed foil to really make the embossed design pop.  We added a few of the Facetd Dot embellishments to the card front and everyone got a package of the Faceted Dots to take home with them.

We used the rectangle Stitched Framelits to cut a window in the card front.  After stamping the butterfly and punching it out we simply attached it to the inside of the card so it could peak through the window.

Card 2 features the same embossing technique on the foil as the first card, but this time we also did some heat embossing on the butterfly.  The butterfly image was stamped on the Grapefruit Grove Foil with VersaMark Ink then heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder before punching the butterfly out and attaching it to the inside of the card.

Black Ice is the technique used on Card 3.  We started out with the Grapefruit Grove Foil Sheet and ran it through the Big Shot with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder.  Next, we rubbed the Black Stazon Ink over the raised texture.  After the Stazon ink dried, we swiped the Versa Mark ink pad here and there over the foil and heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder, then repeated this process with Gold Embossing Powder.  The trick to this technique is a light hand when using the Versa Mark in, so that it doesn’t fully cover the previous layer.  The butterflies were heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.

For Card 4 we used thin strips of Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick Foil Paper laid in a herringbone pattern then ran it through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder for a bit more interest.  The pretty label with the sentiment is from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies then punched out with the Pretty Label Punch.

And Finally, the envelopes were stamped with the Butterflies to tie it all together.

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing the final project from Stamp Crop & Cruise Retreat, so be sure to check back then.
