Today the temperature here in southern Wisconsin, where I live, it’s supposed to be a high of 16, so I thought I’d try to make it feel like springtime, by creating this card featuring yellow tulips made with the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set. I love the crisp clean look of Black, White and Yellow, it just makes me think of springtime especially when you add in a bit of Garden Green.
Color Combo
I embossed the Basic White background piece with the new Gingham Embossing Folder, then added a bow with the Black & White Gingham Ribbon (carry over item from the Holiday Mini Catalog). The flowers and stems were stamped on Basic White in Daffodil Delight and Garden Green and then die-cut using the Beautiful Shapes Dies. I cut another of the hexagon shapes in Basic Black, then cut it in half and attached those pieces to the back of the stamped piece for a matted look. I added a banner of Daffodil Delight and stamped the sentiment in Memento Ink. The Tailored Tag Punch makes it easy to get the notch in the cardstock for the banner. After layering the Basic White background on Basic Black and then a Daffodil Delight card base, the card was finished off with the addition of a few of the Brushed Brass Butterflies!
