Paradise Palms with Blended Background technique

I created this card for a demonstrator event a little while ago and just realized I hadn’t shared it with you yet.  It uses the Paradise Palms stamp set and has a Blended Background Technique.

Color Combo

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.  I attached the straight edge of a Post-it Note across the cardstock covering up the lower two-thirds.  Next I rubbed a Blending Brush in Mango Melody ink and blended the color onto the top third of the Basic White piece making sure the color was darkest in the center of this area.  After removing the Post-it Note, I added a bit more Mango Melody to the lower two-thirds (where the water would be) so that it would appear like the suns reflection in the water.  I reapplied the Post-it Note covering up the top third of the cardstock here the first portion of the Mango Melody was blended on. Bermuda Bay ink and another Blending Brush gave me the water.  Note how the shading is darker in the distance and lighter in the foreground. For the sand, I tore a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock and adhered it on the lower edge of the water, then die-cut a circle using the largest of the Layering Circle Dies.  The Palm Trees were colored directly on the stamp with Early Espresso and Garden Green Stampin’ Write Markers before they were stamped on the circle.
The card base is Mango Melody and the Basic White layer is embossed with the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder along the right edge and the sentiment from the Paradise Palms stamp set is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink, then the die-cut circle is attached with Dimensionals and a Linen Thread bow was added with a Mini Glue Dot.
Stamp, Crop & Cruise 2022, Stampin' Studio
Todays card reminds me of the gorgeous scenery we had last week on my Stamp, Crop & Cruise Retreat On Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas.  We had a blast at 4 different ports exploring and participating in different excursions of our choice.  We stamped and crafted on the days we were at sea, and completed 30 cards, a wall hanging, 2 boxes to hold the cards and 24 scrapbook pages to put our cruise retreat pictures in!
