Masculine Cards from Stampin’ Sisters Retreat

The most common thing I get asked for from paper crafters is ideas for Masculine cards.  So of course I created a set of 6 cards that have a masculine feel to them.  I used the Lovely Arrangements Bundle for the cards, which may seems like an odd choice because the bundle features flowers and generally we don’t associate flowers with Masculine cards.  The trick to pulling it off is using a neutral color palette and using the leafy image.

Each card started with a Pecan Pie card base followed by a piece of Early Espresso and Basic White.

Visual interest was added by using the “script” print from the Nature Walk Designer Series Paper.

We added a touch of class with the Earthen Toned Metallic Paper.  We found different ways to use it whether it was used for banners or layers.

The Wood Texture Paper, which is a white paper that is embossed with a wood grain texture, was given a face lift by using Pecan Pie ink and a Blending Brush to add depth to the design.

Each of the sentiments came from the Lovely Arrangements stamp set and were stamped with Early Espresso ink. The leaves were inked up with Pecan Pie ink and stamped off before stamping them on Basic White cardstock and die-cutting with the Lovely Arrangements Dies.

The use of Circle Punches and the Stylish Shapes Dies added layering interest to the cards and each card was finished off with a few Faux Bronze Pentagon embellishments.  Everyone received a full package of the Faux Bronze Pentagons and had lots to take home after the retreat.

I’ve got plenty more projects and fun from our 20th Annual Stampin’ Sisters Retreat to show you so be sure to come on back.
