Virtual Cruise, Stamp Crop & Cruise, Stampin' UP! Stampin' Studio

One of my favorite things to do with my stamping business is host retreats.  I LOVE designing, and preparing for the event and teaching my guests new techniques and fun projects.  Did you know that I host stamping retreats on cruise ships?  I call my cruise events Stamp, Crop & Cruise and we’ve done a cruise in 2019 and one earlier this year in 2020.  I have one planned and filling up nicely for 2021 and I even have one booked for 2022!  You can read up on the ports and dates of my 2021 cruise HERE.

I am participating in a virtual cruise this fall with the travel agency that handles my cruises.  I hope you’ll join in the fun because I think you’re going to love it!  I will be teaching a class I call Fabulous Fun Folds, where everyone will make 2 cards each featuring a different fun fold.  Here’s a peak at what we’ll be making in the class.

I am also teaching a pre-cruise class that features a boxed 6″ x 6″ Scrapbook Album.

Stampin' Up! Boxed 6" x 6" Scrapbook Album, Stampin' Studio

This boxed scrapbook album unfolds and features 8 scrapbook pages plus pockets with  pull outs and tags for more places to add photos and keepsakes and journaling.  This album would make a great gift or keep it for yourself…you deserve it.

You can find more information about the virtual cruise HERE.  This virtual cruise is being hosted by Dream Vacations, the travel agency that helps me with my cruises.  Please contact them with any questions you have.  (800)645-1481

I hope to see you there (virtually of course).

Turning a negative into a positive

As you know, there is more than one way to use a Stampin’ Up! product.  This card featuring the Field of Flowers Bundle, is a great example of this.  Today, we’ll be turning a negative int a positive!

Color Palette

I chose this color palette because I really wanted the look of “chalk board art for the sentiment and I wanted the flowers to “pop”.  If you’re like most people, when you look at the Confetti Flowers Border Punch, you see a punch that can be used to punch out a bunch of flowers.

While you certainly can use the Confetti Flowers Border Punch to punch out  flowers and attach them to your project, I chose to use the “negative” flowers as a bit of a border.  I attached Whisper White cardstock to the back of the Basic Black so we now have some dimensional interest.

  • Stamp “Always” with VersaMark Ink and emboss with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the heat Tool.
  • Tie a bow with the Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon and wrap the tails of the ribbon around the Basic Black card stock securing them to the back side with Stampin’ Seal
  • Attach stamped Basic Black layer to Whisper White card stock with Stampin’ Seal then attach Whisper White layer to card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp “my friend” with Memento ink on small Bumblebee cardstock and cut a notch in one end to make it a banner. Then attach the banner to the card as shown.
  • Color 12 of the Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Marker and attach them to the center of each flower.
