Healing Hugs

I was playing around in my stampin’ studio the other day, trying to decide what stamp set to create something new with and the gorgeous rose image from the Healing Hugs stamp set jumped out to me.  I thought I’d use it as lately I’ve needed a lot of get well cards, so I thought I’d stock up on them. on hand.

I started out with a Basic Gray card base with a layer of Lovely Lipstick followed by Whisper White.  The rectangle images in the Swirly Frames stamp set was the perfect way to add another visual layer.  The rose was stamped in Lovely Lipstick and stamped off once so that the depth of the images showed up more vividly.  Garden Green was used for the leaves and both the flower and the leaves were fussy cut with my Paper Snips then popped up on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The sentiment, also from the Healing Hugs stamp set was stamped in Basic Gray and I finished the card with some Metallic Pearls and Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots.  Quick and easy and now I’ve got some Get Well cards on hand in case the need arises.

Supplies Used on Today’s Card

Blue & Yellow and Bubbles All Over!

Have you ever found a “sleeper” stamp in a stamp set?  You know…an image that never really caught your attention before, but one day you play with it and IT becomes the most important image in the set!  That’s what it was like for me the other day when I sat down to play with the Beauty Abounds stamp set and specifically the “bubble” images.

Stampin' Up! Beauty Abounds stamp set, Life is Grand stamp set, Stampin' Studio

The Beauty Abounds stamp set and all of the images are great, from the butterflies to the swirly vine with flowers to the sentiments, but oh my goodness….those bubbles!  I just love the way the bring fun and whimsy to this card.  There are two bubble images in the set, a larger and a smaller one.  I stamped the larger bubbles in Night Of Navy and the smaller one in So Saffron.  Stamping along the right and lower edges left me plenty of room for the large “Make a Wish” sentiment from the Life is Grand stamp set.  A piece of  Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon wrapped around the front and tied in a knot helps to center the focal point.

The inside of the card is just as important as the outside so I added the coordinating sentiment from Life is Grand and finished it off with a few more Bubbles.  By trying different color combinations, it’s easy to create this card for a male or female, young or old.  Who do you know that would enjoy receiving this card?

Meet the 2019-2021 In Colors

The other day I did a Facebook Live Video showcasing all of the new product I was able to order mid April from the new Annual Catalog.  There were stamp sets and dies and punches and Designer Series Papers as well as the new 2019-2021 In Colors.  If you’d like to see the video, just head on over to Facebook and request to join my Stampin’ Studio VIP Group.  Once I see your request and accept it, you’ll be able to view the video.

I’m so excited about all the gorgeous things that will be available starting June 4th and once of the things that is always highly anticipated is the new In Colors.  I thought it would be easier to get a feel for them by comparing them to some of our other colors….so let’s take a closer look.

Stampin' Up! 2019-2021 In Colors, Stampin' Studio

Pretty Peacock is a rich shade of Blueish Green.

Purple Posy is a soft lavender color.

Rococo Rose is a really pretty updated mauve color.

Seaside Spray is a grayish blue and I think it’s stunning paired with Night of Navy.

Terracotta Tile is the color of a clay flower pot with maybe just a little more pink color to it.
