Stampin’ Sisters Retreat 2019

Stampin' Sisters Retreat 2019, Stampin' Studio

I spent the weekend having a blast with my sister Peggy and 93 of my favorite people at our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat.  This is our 13th year of hosting this event in Rockford Illinois.  Peggy and I designed 8 classes which included cards, framed art, scrapbook and 3-D items.  this all adds up to a wonderful fun filled weekend.Stampin' Sisters Retreat 2019, Stampin' Studio

The fun for all began Friday evening, when our 93 guests came into our weekend Stampin’ Studio!

Each year we have a theme, so this year, with all the very cold wintry weather we’ve been having here in the Midwest, we went with “Think Spring” and carried out the theme with lots of flowers and butterflies.  Each table was decorated with a flower& butterfly bouquet and a goodie bag for everyone with flowers and their name printed on them.

So, if you’re like most people, you’re wondering what’s in the goodie bags?  The project packs for each of the 8 classes we had for them, as well as the Lovely Lattice stamp set, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Multi-Purpose Tombo Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Tear & Tape, a Blander Pen,and a Sponge

Each year we like to recognize those that have never attended our retreat before.  We affectionately call them our “Newbies”.  We had 16 newbies this year!

Keeping with the theme, I made little flower pot treats for each of the Newbies.

The flower portion slides out of the pot and reveals a sweet sentiment which is attached to a package of gum.

We also like to honor our team members that attend retreat.  We had 26 in attendance this year.

And of course we want each of them to have a special little gift from us, so I made these sweet little doily packages.  Small gifts are so much more special when they’re packaged up cute!

Registration for our retreat starts the end of June.  Monthly payments can be made, but it’s a lot for us to keep track of, so we offer a special incentive for those who choose to prepay the entire fee upfront.

I made these butterfly containers that each held a roll of Night of Navy Bakers Twine.  I had many requests at retreat for directions for making the Flower Pots, the Doily Holders and the Butterfly containers, so I plan on doing a Facebook Live later this week.  I’ll give directions and sizes, so you can recreate them yourselves.

Be sure to come back tomorrow and for the next week or so as I share all the details of our fabulous Stampin’ Sisters retreat!

Simple Stamping with Sweetest Thing Bundle

Sometimes we get so excited about new products that we go crazy…and sometimes we need to just simplify things to really see the beauty in things.  That philosophy is what I want to share with you today.  My team member Sue Coomber created these cards which all feature the Sweetest Thing stamp set and coordinating Jar of Sweets Framelits.

Take a look at the card on the left.  It features a simple Whisper White card base with the apothecary jar stamped in Smoky Slate filled with Daffodil Delight candy images and finished ff with a simple sentiment.  Now look at the card behind that, it’s the same card, just stepped up a notch.  Same Whisper White card base but now the candies in the jar are stamped in Smoky Slate and colored in with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and there’s a bow embellishment on the jar.  The sentiment is more prominent in that it’s stamped on a tag.  The last card on the right is the same card but stepped up another notch.  The jar is now cut out with the Jar of Sweets Framelits and has two other jars stamped and cut from card stock and Gala Gingham Designer Series Paper to really highlight them.  This is a great way to do some simple stamping and also kicking things up a notch or two.  So which is your favorite?

How Sweet It Is Suite

I don’t care if you don’t have a sweet tooth or you don’t have kids…this “How Sweet It Is” Suite of products is so adorable and cheerful, you’ve got to smile when you see it.  This incredible display featuring the How Suite It Is Suite was created for a get together with my team and other local demonstrators by my talented team member Sue Coomber.  Isn’t it stunning?!

The suite consists of the Sweetest Thing stamp set, Jar of Sweets Framelits, How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper, Sweet Cups, Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green Reversible Ribbon, Sweet Pins & Tags and How Sweet It Is Card Stock and you can see Sue used them all in the projects she created.

Check out the adorable apothecary jar filled with sweets.  The cute tag and pin are from the Sweet Pins & Tags embellishments.

The Jar of Sweets Framelits not only cut out image from the How Sweet It Is DSP, but it also cuts out the little wrapped candies on the card and images that have been stamped with the Sweetest Things stamp set.

Look how absolutely special you can make a jar of candy look!  Wrap some ribbon around it and attache a simple tag and you’ve got a gift better than a bouquet of flowers…
