Layering Leaves to Celebrate You

I created this card for a graduation card for a young lady whose school colors are red & black.  I love how the thin strips of Real Red and Basic Black outline the sentiment piece to really make it the focal point of the card.  Scroll down a bit to see the same card design using a few different elements.

Instructions:

  • Emboss the large Basic White piece with the flower embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders
  • Using the 3rd largest stitched square from the Stylish Shapes Dies to die cut a square from the 2-1/2” x 2-1/2” piece of Basic White, then stamp the sentiment with Memento Ink and adhere to the embossed Basic White piece with Seal Adhesive.
  • Adhere the 4 strips of Basic Black with Multipurpose Glue around the four sides for the sentiment piece, then trim off the excess length of the black pieces.
  • Repeat the same steps for the strips of Real Red.
  • Once all the strips of Basic Black and Real Red have been adhered and trimmed, adhere the flower embossed layer to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.
  • Color directly on the flower stamp with the Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker on the flowers and Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker on the stems. Huff air on the stamp before stamping on the remaining Basic White piece.  Repeat this for a second flower, then punch these out with the Bough Punch
  • Attach the two flowers to the card as shown with Multipurpose Glue, then tie a bow with the Real Red Ribbon and secure to the flowers with Mini Glue Dots.
  • Finish the card by adding 3 of Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems.

Here’s another version of the card using Lemon Lime Twist instead of Real Red and the Bright & Beautiful DSP instead of the Embossed Basic White piece.

Hey Chuck Bundle

I wanted to create a simple card featuring the Hey Chuck stamp set and coordinating dies and this is what I came up with.  The background is from the Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper and from there you just add the diecut chick and cake.

Zany Zoo Fun Fold Card

Fun Fold cards are my favorite type of card to make so I wanted to share this “Missing Middle” or “Bridge” card with you..  It features the super fun stamp set called Zany Zoo.  I created this card as my swap card for the Stampin’ Up! incentive trip to Norway a few months ago.

The card base is a normal 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card base of Calypso Coral.  After folding the card in half, I trimmed off 1-1/2″ from the front flap.  That left me with a front flap of 1-1/4″ along the top and a 1-1/2″ piece that ends up on the lower edge.  The black & white zigzag print is from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper.  5-1/4″ x 1″ goes on the top flap and 5-1/4″ x 1-1/4″ on the Calypso Coral piece that ends up on the lower edge.

The Stylish Shapes Dies were used to cut out the stitched circles, one in Lemon Lime Twist and one in Basic White.  Using Memento Ink, the turtle, sentiment and musical notes were stamped on the Basic White circle, then colored in with Stampin’ Blends.

A piece of Petal Pink ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack was sandwiched between the two circle layers, then Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to attach the circles to the top flap.  To complete the front of the card, the Calypso Coral piece with the zigzag print was lined up along the lower edge and dimensionals on the lower edge of the circles was pressed down securing the entire front of the card together.  The card now has a “Missing Middle” or it’s like a “bridge” thus the name of the fun fold.

A 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card and a few Iridescent Rhinestones colored with Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends were added to the card to finish it off.
