Faux Quilting with the Inked & Tiled Punch Pack

Today’s card features a faux quilting technique using the Inked & Tiled Punch Pack and the gorgeous Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper along.

Color Combo

The Faux Quilting for this card starts by using the Inked & Tiled Punch Pack to punch two of the “x” punch and two of the “star” punch from four different prints from the Countryside Inn DSP and adhering these to a 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ square of Basic White.  This piece was then run through the Basic Crosshatch Embossing Folder which is not found in the catalog.  It’s one of the products offered only through the Online Exclusive offerings in my online store.  By embossing the Basic White and punched pieces together, the end result it the quilted look of stitching.  From here I added a Night of Navy mat behind the quilted piece, attached it to Basic White and stamped the sentiment from Wonderful Thoughts in Misty Moonlight Ink and wrapped a piece of Misty Moonlight Inner Braided Ribbon around it before adhering it to a Boho Blue layer and then onto the Misty Moonlight card.  The finishing touch was the addition of some Ombre Matt Decorative Dots in the corners.

I stamped the coffee and croissants in Memento ink on Watercolor Paper, then colored  them in with the Water Painters and Pecan Pie ink. The print I chose from the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper looked like coffee beans to me, so I thought, “why not” and added a piece of it to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock before attaching it to a piece of Basic White.  Keeping with the oval shape of the coffee bean, I wrapped a piece of the Natural Wavy Trim and a few of the Pecan Pie Opaque Ovals.

Measurements:

Bubble Bath: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4” for card base and 2-3/4” x 4-1/4” for die-cutting.

Lemon Lime Twist: 3-3/4” x 5”

Basic White: 3-5/8” x 4-7/8” and 3” x 3” for punching

Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper: 2” x 3-3/4”

Ribbon Duo Combo (Lemon Lime Twist); 3”

Instructions:

  • Fold large Bubble Bath piece of card stock on the score line for card base.
  • Adhere Lemon Lime Twist piece to card front with Stampin’ Seal.
  • Emboss the large Basic White piece with the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder and adhere this to the Lemon Lime Twist layer on card front.
  • Use the 3rd largest die from the Countryside Corners Dies to die-cut the shape from the remaining Bubble Batch piece and attach to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Use the 4th largest die from the Countryside Corners Dies to die-cut the shape from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper and adhere to the Bubble Bath piece with Seal.
  • Punch a circle from the remaining piece of Basic White using the 2-3/8” Circle Punch, then stamp the flowers in Bubble Bath ink and the sentiment in Berry Burst ink as show.
  • Color in the leaves with the Light Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends Marker.
  • Fold the ribbon in half and attach it to the back of the circle with Seal, then attach the circle to the card using Dimensionals.
  • Embellish the card with a few of the silver pearls from the Festive Pearls.
