Springtime Foils Fun Fold Card

I’ve got one more card featuring the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper.  This time it’s a fun fold card that’s very easy to do.  Let’s call this card a “skinny middle” fun fold.

I started this card by making the sentiment which is a piece of Whisper White cardstock and a piece of Silver Foil Paper, both die cut using the Lots of Labels Framelits.  Next I stamped the sentiment from Heartfelt Blooms in Versa Mark and did some heat embossing with Silver Embossing Powder.  Finally, I layered the two labels together and set them aside for a bit, while I worked on the main part of the card.

The Thick Whisper White cardstock base is just 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Next I cut a 2-3/4″ x 11″ piece of the Springtime Foils DSP and scored it at 5-1/2″.  The was then attached to the card base with Fast Fuse.  Next two strips of Silver Foil Paper were cut 1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and attached to either side of the Springtime Foils DSP.

The band that goes across the card and holds the sentiment is Whisper White Thick cardstock cut 1″ x 4-1/2″ scored at 1-1/2″.  After folding it on the score line, I attached the 1’1/2″ part of the band to the back side of the card and folded the remaining part of the band over the front of the card and attached the label layers to the band with Fast Fuse.

This card could be used for nearly every occasion, and the fold is fun, quick and easy.  I hope you’ve enjoyed this card and decide to give it a try.

Watch it Wednesday: Colored Springtime Foils Butterfly Pop Through Card

I have a really cool card to share with you today.  Like the cards I shared with you yesterday (See post here), this used the Sale-a-bration paper called Springtime Foil Designer Series Paper.  (You’ve only got 3 days to get this paper as Sale-a-bration ends March 31st).  This paper is a Glossy White paper with different metallic printed patterns and designs.  This time I’ve tinted the designer paper so that the background is not white and I’ve created a unique pop through butterfly on the card.

You can see a close up of the butterfly here.

It’s attached to the inside of the card and pops up through the opening in the card to spread it’s wings on the front of the card.  My friend Terri Gaines shared this idea and I am so in love with it, as were those that attended my Cabin Fever Stamp Camp last weekend.

I decided this card could be used for so many different occasions, so I’m going to wait to add a sentiment and inside greeting until I’m ready to send it out in the mail. This card is just waiting for the

I bet you’re wondering how I did this card, right?  Well I’ve put together a video showing how I colored the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper as well as how I made Terri’s Pop Through Butterfly card.  When you’re done viewing the video, be sure to keep scrolling down as I’ve got another version of the same card using different Designer Series Paper.

If you’re unable to view the video please CLICK HERE

This version uses the Painted With Love Designer Series Paper and Gold Foil Sheets.

Springtime Foils: Stepping it up a notch!

There are just a few precious days left of Sale-a-bration and that means very little time for you to get the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper.  This paper is absolutely one of my all time favorite Designer series Papers.  Why, you ask?  Well first off, there prints are super versatile in that there are stripes and dots and flowers and leaves.  Next is the fact that it’s a mixed metals type of paper.  The prints are all a metallic foil with silver, gold and rose gold foil.  I also love the fact that the background of the paper is a glossy white which allows for an opportunity to “step it up a notch.”

This first card features the Cake Soiree stamp set and Sweet Cake Framelits and the striped print from the Springtime Foils DSP.  I stamped the cake in Memento Ink and colored it in with Stampin’ Blends, then cut it out with the Sweet Cake Framelits.  The “cake platter” is also from the Sweet Cake Framelits, I just trimmed off the “fancy lacy” part.  Did you know that ou can choose the Sweet Cake Framelits as a Sale-a-bration choice with an order of $100 and the Springtime Foils DSP can be yours free with a $50 order.

This second card has the same layout and same striped print from the Springtime Foils DSP.  The only difference is that before I attached it to the card, I used Stampin’ Write Markers and colored the white part of the paper, then wiped it off with a Baby Wipe.  The marker does not leave color on the foil print when you wipe it off.  Isn’t that neat how you get a very elegant look with the print on the first card, but you get a totally different fun and festive look by adding color.  That’s what I call kicking it up a notch.  Tomorrow (if all goes well) I’ll be sharing a video of another way to use the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper and kick it up a notch again.
