More fun at the Stampin’ Sister’s Retreat

At our Stampin’ Sister’s Retreat last weekend, we had a fun visit from Shannon West from the Stampin’ Up! Corporate Office.  Everyone at the retreat was thrilled to meet Shannon, as they recognized her from many of the Stampin’ Up! product videos.

We also had another special guest,that was Peggy’s husband Tony who spent Saturday morning with us and sharpened scissors for anyone who needed it.

After we finished project 4, which I shared with you yesterday, we took a break for lunch, which was a delicious Italian Buffet.

Stampin’ Sister’s Retreat: Framed Art

We’re onto the forth project of our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat.  WE like to have a variety of projects for the participants to make.  So far we’ve made a set of 6 cards featuring the Amazing You stamp set, a set of 4 masculine cards feature the True Gentleman Suite of products, a set of boxes featuring the Mixed Medallion Card Kit, and today we’ve got a shadow box framed art piece featuring the Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack.

Each crafter was given an 8″ x 8″ shadow box frame and the pieces to make the framed art.  Using the Petal Passion Memories & More Pack, I picked out the “cards” I wanted to use and cut them all to size along with a black mat behind each one.  The “cards” were attached to the black mats with snail adhesive, and each matted piece was attached to the Whisper White background with Stampin’ Dimentionals.  I left my sample uncolored, but encouraged the crafters to color theirs in with Stampin’ Blends, or markers, or colored pencils.  They turned out amazing and each one was a personal reflection of the crafter.

The Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack includes a total of 72 double-sided cards: 52 3″ x 4″ cards (2 each of 26 designs); 20 4″ x 6″ cards (2 each of 10 designs); 2 cardstock sticker sheets; and 2 acetate card overlays with white print.  The possibilities with this kit are truly endless.

Today I’m sharing Project 3 from our Stampin’ Sister’s Retreat.  I used the Mixed Medallion Card Kit.  We’ve got a feminine one for her and a masculine one for him.

The Mixed Medallion Card Kit is a Level 1 Sale-a-bration Choice.  One card kit has 4 Berry Burst cards and 4 Crumb Cake cards as well as 8 envelopes and embellishments and Glue Dots.  I was playing around with the card kit and was folding the cards on the score lines and and that’s when the idea of a box came to my mind.  Each box takes 2 cards, and the rest of the things in the kit can be used for other projects.  I just added card stock, and stamped images and embellishments.

These boxes will hold a bunch of cards or it would be great to wrap a gift in.  them measure roughly 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and 4-1/4″ deep.

Mixed Medallion Boxes Class to Go

I am offering this as a class to go.  You will need your own Mixed Medallion Card Kit and I will have all of the other pieces for each box cut to size and packed in a cello bag.  I will also provide written instructions for each box with photographs.  I will go one step further, in that I will do all of the Big Shot work and punching for you, so all you’ll need to do is stamp and put them together.
