Stampin’ Sister’s Retreat: Love You More Than Chocolate

Here’s the special treat everyone found waiting for them on the final day of retreat.  I used red & white melting chocolate and drizzled it over Oreo’s.  This gave them kind of a gingham check look.  I then put 3 cookies in a Clear Tiny Treat Box, tied it up with gingham ribbon and added a little tag that I stamped with the More Than Chocolate stamp set.  You may have noticed my signature tag line at the end of every blog post, “Enjoy life, stamp something & eat chocolate.”  As far as I’m concerned if you’ve got ink, stamps, paper and chocolate you’ve got it made!

Our dad is a pretty handy guy who loves wood working and helping his daughters when ever he can.  We commissioned him to make these glue holders and bow makers.  The glue holders will hold a bottle (or three) of the Multi-purpose Glue and the bow makers make really quick work of  tying bows in various sizes.  We sold these at the event to anyone who needed them.

We offered a number of ordering specials at retreat, and many took us up on the offers.  We offered extra Sale-a-bration items, Grab Boxes (like a grab bag only in a box; filled with 4″ x 6″ designer paper, ribbons, washi tape, embellishments and more), $ off an order of a certain size and of course the Ultimate Bundle which is the Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit where for just $99 + tax, everyone could choose any 2 stamp sets of their choice plus $125 in product of their choice for just $99.  Of those that attended retreat, 5  purchase the starter kit and joined our team!  Yay!   This incredible offer is still available until March 31st.

We also offered a chance to win a Stamparatus and a Weekend Tote Bag.  Annemarie won the Weekend Tote Bag and Karen won the Stamparauts!

If you’d like to join in on this kind of fun sometime in the future, just pop me an email or leave a comment.  I will be doing a Stampin’ Retreat on a cruise ship next January and I’d love to have you join us.  That retreat will be called Stamp, Crop & Cruise and I’m just finalizing all of the  details on that and will be posting information very soon.

Stampin’ Sister’s Retreat: Picture Perfect Party Flip Book

The final project (project 9) of our Stampin’ Sister’s Retreat was this fun flip page scrapbook.  It features the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper and it’s perfect for anyone, because everyone has a birthday, right?

This flip book was created with 4 pieces of cardstock each cut 4-1/4″ x 11″.  The Pool Party piece was scored at 2″, Berry Burst at 3″, Lemon Lime Twist at 4″ and Bermuda Bay at 5″.  Then all of the pieces were folded on the score lines and stacked up on inside of the other.

Next, we punched 2 holes through all of the layers and threaded them together with Bakers twine.  Next we decorated each page.

The outside cover had the Celebrate die cut from the Celebrate You Thinlits (Level 2 Sale-a-bration item)

Next, we used the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set to embellish the pages.  Each page also had a 1/2″ strip of Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper along the side.

The Circle Tab Punch makes for great tabs for flipping through the album.

With all of the pieces cut and scored for the retreat participants, this album went together in less than 45 minutes!  How’s that for fast?

So over the past 2 weeks, I’ve shared the theme decor, games, food, and projects from our Stampin’ Sister’s Retreat.  Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing just a few other details and then we’re off to other stamping cards and projects.

Stampin’ Sister’s retreat: Bird Banter Card Set

We’re nearing the end of the projects from our Stampin’ Sister’s Retreat.  Today’s project is Project 8; a set of 4 cards with matching envelopes featuring the Bird Banter stamp set.

I used the Tutti-Fruitti Cards & Envelopes (a FREE Sale-a-Bration item.)  When you check out these cards you’ll notice that they all have the same layout, just the colors and stamped images differ.

Each card has a banner that’s has texture added by running the banner through the Petal Pairs Embossing Folder.

The birds were stamped in Memento Ink and colored in with Stampin’ Blends  (Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, and Pool Party)  The grren you see in the photos is the Lemon Lime Twist marker.

The images and the layer behind them was cut out with the Layering Circles Framelits.
