I gave texture to the Daffodil Delight background with the Petal Pair Embossing Folder.  Next I attached a 1″ strip of the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper to help ground the focal point.  The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White which I die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I stamped the flowers and bird in Memento Ink and brought the flowers to life by coloring shades of Daffodil Delight and Old Olive using the Stampin’ Blends Markers.  No fussy cutting was needed here, because these images were cut out using the Petals & More Thinlits.  Once they were cut out I simply popped them off the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

.  In this card I’ve used one of the prints (shown on the right side of the card) and colored the flowers and leaves with the Stampin’ Blends Markers.  This paper makes shading a highlighting as easy as a paint by number picture.  Notice how the flowers are two toned?  Well the designer paper is a white background with flowers that are outlined in black and are shaded in gray.  All I did was used the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends to color the “gray shaded areas” of the flower then I went back over the rest of the flower with the Light Calypso Coral Marker.  I did the same things with the Light & Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends for the leaves.  It makes such pretty paper, doesn’t it?

I stamped the sentiment and small flowers from Petal Palette stamp set on a 2″ x 2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock in Memento Ink (that’s the ink you want to be using with the Stampin’ Blends).  I colored in the flowers with the Light Calypso Coral and added little low lights with the Dark Calypso Coral.  This layer was attached to a scallop square I cut out using the Layering Square Framelits.  The pretty ribbon you see is a piece of the 1/4″ Whisper White Organza Ribbon that I colored with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Marker.  This ribbon has been such a big seller, they actually took it off the products that can be ordered.  They’re expecting a big shipment of the ribbon in next week, so then we’ll be able to order it again.

Black & White and elegant all over

I have a riddle of sorts for you today:  What’s Black and White and Elegant all Over?  It’s the Petal Passion Suite!  Oh my goodness, this suite is amazing with the different looks you can achieve with the products in the suite.  Every month I host a class I call my Suite Escape Class.  This month I chose the Petal Passion Suite, and I design 4 different cards which combined will use every product featured in the suite.  This gives the opportunity for everyone to try all of the products before they buy.  I offer a two great ordering incentives at the class as well as a sweet home made treat to eat.

This is one of the cards we made at my February Suite Escape Class.  The card base is thick Whisper White cut 4-1/4″ x 7-1/4″ scored at 5-1/2″.  I used a 1-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ strip of the striped print from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper along the right side of the card.  I’ve added a mat of Basic Black and another layer of Whisper White with a circle from the Layering Circles Framelits cut out of the center.  I stamped the sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set in Versa Mark and heat embossed with the Silver Embossing Powder, then cut it out with one of the dies from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.  The delicate silver flowers are cut out of Silver Foil Paper with the dies from the Petals & More Thinlits and then I added one of the Petal Passion Embellishments and a bow made from the Silver Bakers Twine.
