I’m staring a new Sunday series on card swap shares.  As a demonstrator I participate in a few different card swaps when new catalogs come out and I’ve got some incredible cards to share with you.  A card swap is simply when you create a card and trade it with another stamper; it’s a way to get lots of different ideas.  Sometimes the creator of the card attached their name, other times not.  I will always credit the stamper who created the swap if I know who it was.   Today’s cards all feature the Waterfront stamp set.

For today’s card I started with a card base of Pool Party, then added a piece of Lemon Lime Twist which I ran through the Big Shot with the Seaside Embossing Folder.  The pretty banner is a piece of the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The bubbles in the paper are embossed to make them shine.  The sentiment, stamped in Bermuda Bay ink, comes from the Magical Day stamp set and was cut out with the Layering Circles Framelits.  The adorable mermaid was cut right out of the Myths & Magic DSP, so that every mermaid is unique.  I popped her up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Now, look closely and you’ll see that I added a few of the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes on and around the die cut circle.  I don’t know about you but I think this is so stinkin’ cute!  If you want to order any of the supplies to make this card, all you need to do is click on the photos below and it will take you right to my online store.

Heartfelt Blooms

We’ve got a brand new, patent pending, type of stamp set in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  It’s called Heartfelt Blooms and let me just say this stamp is stunning!  What makes this a patent pending stamp set you ask?  Well, read on….

The Heartfelt Blooms stamp set is the first in a new Distinktive stamp line.  It’s a patent pending stamp production process that creates photo realistic style stamps.  for this stamp, the concept artists actually created a bouquet of flowers and photographed it to create the image.  Then our manufacturing facility turned the image into rubber.  The result is this stamp which makes some gorgeous projects.

For this card, I started with a card base of Fresh Fig which I ran through the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder.  Important Tip: The Simple Stripes Embossing Folder embosses pretty deep and can tear the paper, so it’s important to attach a piece of Waxed Paper to the inside of the embossing folder with Snail Adhesive.  This cushions the cardstock as it goes through the Big Shot and it will prevent your cardstock from tearing.  Next I have a double mat of Whisper White and Sweet Sugarplum which I popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  For the stamped layer, I used Whisper White cardstock and Fresh Fig ink on the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set.  Next I used the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush directly on the stamped image in the center of the flowers and the 3 smaller flowers at the top left.  The Wink of Stella mixes with the ink from the stamped image and gives off the Sweet Sugarplum look.  I made a double bow from the Fresh Fig 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon and wrapped it around the Whisper White Layer.  The sentiment comes from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set as well, and then I cut it out with the Petals & More Thinlits Dies and popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
