How to use the Mini Embroidery Hoops on a card

There are some super cute stamp sets and accessories in the Occasions catalog, that you know you want them the second you see them….Then there are other products that are kind of, well…head scratchers.  You see them and you think to yourself, “How on earth would I use that on a card?”  That’s how I felt about the Mini Embroider Hoops.  Don’t get me wrong, they’re super cute because they’re so tiny, but I couldn’t figure out how I’d use them until now.

I stamped the lemonade glass from the Good Day stamp set and punched it out with the 1-1/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, then attached it to a 1-3/4″ circle of Daffodil Delight cardstock.  Next I attached the smaller of the two sizes of Mini Embroidery Hoops with Tombo Multi-Purpose Glue and attached a bow made from the Silver Baker’s Twine.  The card base is the Mixed Medallions Card Kit (featured on page 6 of the Sale-a-bration catalog).  The card base has a Berry Burst inside flap which I covered over with Soft Sky card stock.

Here’s the second one I made using the larger sized Mini Embroidery Hoop and the same Good Day stamp set.  This time I used the 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and covered over the Berry Burst inside flap with Daffodil Delight.

Create a Multi-colored Butterfly with Beautiful Day stamp set

I received this gorgeous card from Tandra Boyer in a card swap and I just had to share it with you.  It features the Beautiful Day stamp set and it really showcases the multi-colored butterfly that coordinates with the designer paper.

The butterfly image from the Beautiful Day stamp set was stamped in VersaMark ink on Watercolor Paper and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  The Aqua Painter was used to pick up ink from the inside lid of the stamp pads and water colored on the butterfly.  Calypso Coral was used on the outer edges, Melon Mambo in the middle and Rich Razzleberry on the inside.  Isn’t it stunning how gorgeous it looks with the Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  In case you hadn’t noticed…that paper is NOT just for Valentines.  It’s a stunning collection of prints that includes lots of “swashes” of color.

Party Pandas birthday card is as easy as 1,2,3

You know how sometimes when you first see something and it speaks to you?  That’s how it was for me when I first saw the Party Panda stamp set in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  I mean seriously, this set is just so sweet and the fact that it’s one of the FREE Sale-a-bration choices, makes it that much cuter don’t you think?

I was inspired to create this card after I received a card from Fran Kennedy in a card swap.

  1. Stamp the bear with the balloon and the sentiment from Party Pandas on Whisper White cardstock using Memento Ink as well as the balloon on the striped pattern of the Bubble & Fizz Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper.  Then hand cut the balloon out and attach it to the bear’s string with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  2. Use the Layering Squares Framelits to create the frame around the bear and attach it with snail adhesive.  Then add a 1″ strip of the DSP to the lower edge of the cardstock and wrap a piece of the Bermuda Bay Mini Chevron Ribbon around the cardstock and tie a knot.
  3. Attached Whisper White layer on a mat of Basic Black and a card base of Bermuda Bay and you’ve got yourself an adorable birthday card.
