This is my last Sneak Peek, because, as I said tomorrow the Sale-a-bration and Occasions catalogs go live, so everything is fair game then.  This beautiful card is one I received from Brandi Barnard from the Stampin’ Up! home office.  She sent it to me after I did my presentation at On Stage back in November.  The card started out a s a 3″ x 5″ note card  which I then mounted on Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral card stock.  I love the feminine swirls of the peacock’s feathers and the bit of bling Brandi added with the Rhinestone jewels.  Maybe this is one of the FREE Sale-a-bration items you’ll choose when you order $50 or more…..

Sneak Peek: Celebrate You Thinlits Dies

Happy New Year!  Are you excited for a fresh start that the new year brings?  I am, and I’m also excited to really start diving into products from the new Occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration catalog.  They both are available to order from starting January 3rd.  Today’s card features something from both catalogs.

Stampin' Up! Lot's Of Happy Card Kit & Celebrate You Thinlits, Stampin' Studio

Take a close look at this card…there are tons of new product featured here… can you spot them all?  First of all is the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies that cut out the words “Celebrate” and “You”.  Next is the Calypso Coral Ribbon that is part of the Shimmer Ribbon Pack.  Both of these products are featured in the Sale-a-bration catalog and you can earn them for FREE!  Come back tomorrow and I’ll share all of the details about this year’s Sale-a-bration Promotion!

Next check out the sparkly paper showing behind the die cut words.  This is the Myths & Magic 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper in the Occasions catalog  Aren’t you excited we’ve got more Glimmer Paper choices?  I sure am!.  And finally, check out the stamps used on the card.  Both the sentiments and the pretty floral image come from the Lots of Happy Card Kit also from the Occasions catalog.

Measurements:

  • Basic Black:  8 1/2” x  5 1/2” scored at 4 1/4” plus scrap piece
  • Whisper White: 5” x 3 3/4”
  • Myths & Magic Blue Glimmer Paper: 2” x 3 3/4”
  • Myths & Magic Green Glimmer Paper: 1” x 3 3/4”

 Instructions:

  1. Fold Basic Black card stock in half to create card base and set aside.
  2. Place dies from “Celebrate You” thinlits on Whisper White card stock (on diagonal) and run through the Big Shot using the Magnetic Platform. When removing the cut pieces be careful to keep the little bits that go inside the letters, as they will be glued on later.
  3. Place the blue glimmer paper behind the “Celebrate” and tape in place. Repeat with the green glimmer paper behind the “You” and tape in place. Trim any excess off the edge of the Whisper White layer. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the little bits that go inside the cut letters (as shown on sample).
  4. Use Black Memento ink to stamp flowers and sentiment on front of Whisper White layer using the stamps from “Lots of Happy Card Kit”. Colour with the Watercolour Pencils that came with the kit, as well as the Bermuda Bay pencil from the Watercolour Pencils set (annual catalogue). Use blender pen over the coloured images then add some Clear Wink of Stella. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere to card base.
  5. Rub embossing buddy over a scrap piece of Basic Black card stock. Ink sentiment from “Lots of Happy Card Kit” with Veramark and stamp onto black card stock. Sprinkle White Stampin’ Emboss Powder over, shaking off excess, and set with heat tool. Use Bermuda Bay Watercolour Pencil on inside of “Best”. Trim piece and adhere to card, over the original stamped image.
  6. Add Basic Rhinestones to flowers on the card.
  7. Make a bow with the Shimmery Ribbon and use Mini Glue Dots to adhere to card.
