A gift wrapped in the warmth of Christmas

Stampin' Up! Snowflake Sentiments stamp set, Mini Pizza Box, Stampin' Studio

There are only 2 months until Christmas and I can’t tell you how much I enjoy a little creative fuss decorating these Mini Pizza Boxes!  These boxes come 8 to a package for just $6.00 and they measure 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″, so a gift card would fit inside, or a cookie, or a bunch of Hershey Nuggets, or money, or…. the possibilities are endless.

I started with a bit of Red Glimmer Paper topped off with Whisper White cardstock which I stamped the sentiment from Snowflake Sentiments.  Then  comes the “fancy” part…a Green Sprig and Mini Ornament topped off with a double bow made from the Red Mini Tinsel Trim…. and just like that you’ve got a great way to give a gift “Wrapped in the Warmth of Christmas”!

Be Merry Kit elements make beautiful cards

The other day, I was playing around with the parts and pieces from the Be Merry Kit.  This kit is not designed to make cards but rather it makes 12 rosette ornaments.  I decided to use the different elements in the kit as focal points on a card.  So, what do you think?

The black and white buffalo check print comes from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper while the gold lacy medallion, the gold tree, wood banner and “merry” die cut all come from the Be Merry Kit and the holly berry & leaves are from the Stitched Felt Embellishments.  All of these are found in the Holiday Catalog.  The card is a “Z-Fold” card and if you scroll down you can see what it looks like opened up.

The Z-Fold is very easy to make with the card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″.

I’d love to hear a comment on what you think of the altered use of the elements in the Be Merry Kit.

Altered Acetate Card Box makes perfect candy box

Are you like most people and you’ve flipped right past the Acetate Card Boxes in the Holiday catalog?  It’s easy to do because there clear and unless you’re specifically looking for them, they’re hard to notice.  Well, not anymore!  You’ll be looking for them once you see what you can do with them!  (You’ll find them on page 13 of the Holiday Catalog- 10 in a package for $6.50)  So, are you wondering how I did this?….

Stampin' Up! Acetate Card Box, More than Chocolate stamp set, Stampin' Studio

…well, the boxes come flat, so I cut one in half before folding it into a box.  Next I cut a piece of Painted Harvest Designer Series Paper 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ and scored one side at 3″ and 3-1/2″.  After folding on the score lines I inserted the Designer Paper into the box making the 1″ edge become the front flap.  I stamped the sentiment from the More than Chocolate stamp set on very Vanilla cardstock and punched it out with the Everyday Label Punch.  I punched out another label from Cajun Craze to layer behind the Very Vanilla piece.  The Cajun Craze leaf was cut out using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits, then it was attached to the tag with Mini Glue Dots.  I attached tag to the designer paper and added a piece of Velcro to the back of the tag and the front of the box to hold the flap shut; this way the box is reusable.  A Kit Kat Bar fits perfectly inside the box and is a fun way to serve up a fun treat!
