Big Day Blendabilities technique: Day 1

At our last team gathering I created a card class for my team members to do with their customers.  The class is based around the FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set called “Big Day” and the Blendabilities Markers.  We made three cards using the same stamp set, same colors (Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, and Crumb Cake) and the cards featured 3 different techniques to do with Blendabilities.

The first card in the series featured the coloring book technique which is simply to stamp the image in Memento Ink On Whisper White card stock and color in with one shade of Blendabilites.  Nothing to this technique, but I really like to do just plain coloring with the Blendabilities because there is not streaking of color at all and it’s super quick.

Come back tomorrow when I’ll feature the second card and another way to use the Blendabilites.

Flowers Out of the Frame

I always like to use a subtle or neutral color palate when it comes to sympathy cards.  This time I stuck with Sahara Sand and Whisper White and I pulled in the Something Borrowed DSP and Sahara Sand Lace Trim.

To get the flowers from the “Boom with Hope” stamp set to pop out of the frame, I stamped the image on Whisper White cards stock and then I hand cut around part of the flower image.

Then I used the Oval Collection Framelits and inserted the hand cut part of the flower from the back of the framelit through to the front, so that the cutting part of the Oval Framelit was behind the flowers.  One pass through the Big Shot and I have an Oval with flowers popping out of the frame.

Subtle Hello

With Subtle shades of Pink Pirouette, Whisper White and Wild Wasabi, this card gives off a very feminine vibe.  The Pink Pirouette card base is cut
5 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ and is scored at 4 1/4″.  I attached a 1″ strip of Whisper White to the inside edge of the card and then rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch.  Both prints of the Designer Paper comes from the Subtles Background Designer Series Paper Stacks.  The leaf image comes from the hostess stamp set “Bloom with Hope” and is colored in with Wild Wasabi and Pink Pirouette Blendabilites.
