Leadership: Day 2

Thursday was day 2 of Leadership.  We started off by checking in before General Session and getting our new Leadership bags.  I decided to turn mine inside out cause I liked the inside print.  What do you think?

At General Session we learned about some changes the company is making to our compensation plan…opportunity to make more money… gotta love that!
I picked up 20 more card ideas in the form of more swapping.  Stamping demonstrations in the afternoon session and some goodies from Stampin’ Up!.  Oh, how I love free product!

After dinner we went to Disney World’s Hollywood Studios Theme park.  The park was reserved for Stampin’ Up! only and they held a special showing of Fantasmic, which was a beautiful water, fireworks,  and lights show with tons of Disney characters.

After the performance we had free reign of the park where they had tons of dessert stations set up for us with Mickey Mouse chocolate covered brownies, Key Lime Tarts shaped like Mickey, churros, apple tarts, cotton candy and so much more.  They had the Tunnel of Terror and the Aerosmith Rock & Roll Roller Coaster available for us to ride as much as we wanted.

Leadership in Orlando: Day 1

Peggy and I headed to Orlando yesterday for the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference.  Yay sunshine!  We arrived at our hotel around 4:00, got unpacked and headed out for dinner at Red Lobster.  Then we spent the evening with 46 other demonstrators at a shoe box swap organized by our friend Sherrie Robinson.  We each designed a card and cut supplies for 48 people and then we moved around from one spot to anther and by the time the evening was over we each had 48 beautiful finished cards.  I’ll be using many of these ideas for up coming classes as they are stunning.

Today we start with all of the classes, stamping demonstrations, and a special event called Manager Reception which Stampin’ Up! puts on for those of us with a title of Manager or above.  We’re headed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the evening, where they’ll close the park to just us.   So check back tomorrow and I’ll share some more of our fun.

Moon Lake

How about a simple guy card today?  Moon Lake is a great new stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.  The cattails are colored in with Stampin’ Write Markers while the water is colored in with a blender pen and Island Indigo ink to give variations of water color.  If you haven’t noticed it yet, check out the Adventure Bound DSP stack.  The patterned side of the paper was used on this card but there are fabulous nature photos on the reverse side.
