Cheer Up Buttercup

Have you ever looked through one of the catalogs and not really even noticed a particular stamp set?  That’s what happened initially to me with the Hardwood background stamp.  It’s not that I had a negative response to the stamp, I just had no feelings about it one way or the other, certainly a stamp I could live with out.  Then one day I had extra hostess dollars to spend, so I decided to order it.  Well, now I must confess that this is a really nice stamp and one that I can see everyone using.  From the photo in the Occasions catalog, I thought the stamp was a smaller stamp, not the full background stamp it is.  I stamped the Hardwood background on Baked Brown Sugar card stock and used the Triangle punch to cut “Dog ear” notches along the top edge of the stamped image.  Next I cut the cardstock into strips following the lines of the stamped image.  I reassembled those strips onto Pool Party background, attached grass made with the fringe scissors and added some daffodils made from the Boho Blossoms Punch.

Pop Up Word

I had fun designing this card which features the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies that are retiring.  I cut the letters from Whisper White card stock and stamped on the letters with Stazon using the So Very Grateful Stamp set.  I then colored the flowers in with Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz markers.  I then popped each letter up using dimentionals.  I also markered the words “doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful” from the Perfect Pennants stamp set.

Thoughts of you…

After getting back from the incentive trip and dealing with a nasty case of what has now turned into bronchitis, I finally have some new cards to show you.  This is one of the cards everyone made at this weeks Stamp & Go Club.  Kathy M. was this months hostess and she received a $100 shopping spree and 2 items at 1/2 price.    If you’d like to do some free shopping, contact me to join a club or host a party.
