Winter Storm Warning

This card made by fellow demonstrator Kathy Chrisler reminds me of a winter storm.  In fact, Peggy and I traveled home from Leadership on Sunday during the midst of a winter storm warning which then turned into a blizzard.  Because of all the snow, instead of driving back to my house Sunday afternoon, I spent the night at Peggy’s house, as the 18 inches of snow they got along with the bowing and drifting and white out conditions was more than I was willing to try.

So anyway, let’s talk about this beautiful card.  The stamp set is Sheltering Tree which is wonderful because you can make trees for every season with it.  The tree was stamped with Early Espresso ink in the forefront and then without inking it up again, it was stamped in the background on the right and then again without inking it up on the left side. This “stamping off” technique helps to create the illusion of distance.  The snow hills are stamped in Soft Sky ink and then Dazzling Diamonds Glitter was attached to the snow wit.h 1 2-way glue pen.  The glitter is hard to see, but it sparkles just like real snow does.
