Here’s an idea for a fun birthday card. I used the Designer Tee stamp set, which is one of the FREE Sale-a-bration choices. I added a row of “punched out candles” using the Candle Border Punch. I’ll admit, I didn’t think this punch was a “must have” until I played with it. OMG, I love it. Instead of keeping all of the little candles that punched out of the cardstock, I used the negative are of the cardstock and slipped a piece of cardstock behind it to highlight the row of candles.

Let’s Take a Closer Look
I stamped the image in Basic Black on a square that I die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. Next, I stamped the same image on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock using Daffodil Delight ink. I did a little fussy cutting around the cake and popped it up off the card using a Stampin’ Dimensional. I couple of this strips of Designer Series Paper from the Neutral and Bright Designer Series Paper Stacks added the last little bit of festive fun to the card.
Stampin’ Studio Tips
- Tip: Highlight the focal image, which in this case is the stamped image, by layering framing the image with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then adding a matted layer behind. This makes the image pop!
- Sizes: Daffodil Delight cardstock base is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. Basic Black cardstock is 4″ x 5-1/4″ and 1-7/8″ x 1-7/8″. Whisper White cardstock is 3-3/4″ x 5″. Basic Black striped DSP and Daffodil Delight striped DSP is 1/2″ x 2″.
