Since Easter is just a few short weeks away, I thought I’d share a fun Easter card. I used the Hey Chick stamp set, which is one of the free choices during Sale-a-bration. I also used the Assorted Glimmer Paper Pack . The Glimmer paper was a free Sale-a-bration choice but it sold out and is no longer available (sorry). You could replace this glimmer paper with some of the other glimmer paper we offer or with regular cardstock. Get creative, you can change it up a bit. My color palette came from the colors in the Glimmer Paper Pack. The background was created using 3 Sponge Daubers and 3 ink pads. I inked up the daubers in Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum and then “stamped” the dauber on the whisper White card stock and this fun background was born.
Today’s Color Palette
Let’s Take a Closer Look
I stamped the image and sentiment from the Hey Chick stamp set in Black Stazon on a circle I die cut from the Stitched Shapes framelits. Next, I colored the egg with a Bermuda Bay Stamp & Write Marker and the feet with Daffodil Delight. I wanted to keep the focal image pretty simple, because there’s a lot going on with the background and all of the glittering circles. The final accent is the sweet little bow which was tied with the Bermuda Bay Thick Baker’s Twine.
Stampin’ Studio Tips
- Tip: To create the Sweet Sugarplum “circle ring”, I punched out a circle using the 1-1/4″ circle punch. You don’t use the punched out circle but rather the negative space left in the cardstock. I then used the 1-1/2″ circle punched and punched just outside of the 1st circle in the cardstock that was remaining.
- Sizes: Bermuda Bay cardstock base is 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″. Whisper White cardstock is 4″ x 5-1/4″.
