Saturday the weather here in Wisconsin was simply beautiful. It was warm, the sun was shining and the birds were singing. It felt like spring…Sunday…not so much. It was cold and rainy but you know what they say…April showers bring May flowers. This card was inspired by the daffodils in my flower garden out my front door. They’re not in bloom yet, but the leaves and stems are about 6″ tall now. I shared a sneak peek of this card in my April newsletter, so now I want to share all of the details for it.
Today’s Color Palette
Let’s take a Closer Look
I used the Basket Bunch stamp set for the flowers and stems, then I used the coordinating Basket Builder Framelits to cut out the basket, grass, stems and flowers. Notice too, how I kept with the flower theme and added texture with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder for the background. I framed the basket of daffodils with the Layering Circle Framelits and popped this up with dimensionals. I found the “Hello Spring” sentiment in the Crazy About You stamp set.

Stampin’ Studio Tips
- Tip: I added some dimension to the flowers by fussy cutting around the center of the flower and popping them up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Sizes: Daffodil Delight cardstock is 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″. Basic Black cardstock is 4″ x 5-1/4″. Whisper White is 5″ x 3-3/4″ I used scraps of Daffodil Delight for the flowers and basket, scraps of Garden Green for the grass, and scraps of Whisper White for the basket.
