I was thrilled when Stampin’ Up! brought back our Glossy Cardstock with this years annual catalog in June. It is fantastic for creating great backgrounds like this card which was inspired by fellow stamper Selene Kempton, using the Polished Stone Technique and the Leaflets Framelits.
Let me share how I did it:
- Paint Wink of Stella over the front of a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Glossy Cardstock
- Wet a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol (get it really wet)
- Apply 3-4 drops of 3 different colors of reinker to the cotton ball (I used Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry)
- Pounce the cotton ball all over the glossy cardstock. The alcohol and reinkers will start to gently mix the colors on the paper while pulling the Wink of Stella shimmer throughout the piece.
- Set the glossy cardstock aside to dry.
- Cut the leaf from a 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using the Leaflets Framelits
- Stamp the sentiment from Seasonal Lanterns in Cajun Craze ink.
- Cut a 5-1/2″ piece of Burlap ribbon in half lengthwise (to make it more narrow) and wrap it around the Very Vanilla piece.
- Unravel the remaining half of the Burlap Ribbon and tie it in a knot around the first piece of burlap.
- Attach Very Vanilla piece on Glossy Cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Attach Glossy cardstock to a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Rich Razzleberry Cardstock which then gets attached to the 4-1/4″ x 11″ Cajun Craze card base.
