Daisies, Doilies and Gingham

Here’s a sweet little card that reminds me of a laid back summer day in the country.  The simple little daisy image is from the In Every Season stamp set and it reminds me of picking daisies from our neighbors garden when my kids were little.  I received this stamp set as a prize patrol at On Stage in April.  It’s a great set because it has 12 different flower, one for every month of the year.I love how the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon and the doily pair so well together to evoke those days gone by.

Stampin' Up! In Every Season stamp set, Stampin' Studio

I stamped the flower on Whisper White cardstock in Stazon ink and colored it in with Stampin’ Write Markers before I punch it out with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch.  I then layered the stamped image on a 2″ circle of Night of Navy.  The backside of the Pearlized Doilies are white, so they’re perfect for changing the color (So Saffron in this case) by rubbing an inked sponge dauber over the doily.  A bit of snail in the middle of the doily is all that was needed to hold it in place before tying  a bow in the gingham ribbon and wrapping it over the doily and around the Whisper White Layer.  The banner was stamped with a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings set and finished off with a Pearl that I  colored with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
