We’re onto day 3 of the Tasteful Background Dies. This time I’ve paired it with the Daisy Lane stamp set and coordinating Medium Daisy Punch. If you missed my first two shares with the Tasteful Background Dies click the links below.
We’ve got a few different techniques going on with this card so let me explain. For the first technique, Colored Embossing, I stamped the stem and the sentiment from the Daisy Lane stamp set with VersaMark on the Basic Black cardstock and embossed it with Whisper White Embossing Powder. The next step, to add color to the stem and sentiment, is to color over the cooled embossed images with Stampin’ Blends. I used Dark Old Olive for the stem and Dark Mango Melody for the sentiment. Next I added a piece of the Daffodil Delight Gingham print, from the Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers, to the backside of the die cut area. This allowed the gingham print to show through. The second technique on the card is the Paper Piecing. I used the Tasteful Background die to cut out 6 flower petals from a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then attached the 6 petals over the gingham print using the Multi-Purpose Glue. I really like the contrast of the white and black along with the gingham print. The flower is made by punching 2 flowers from Whisper White using the Medium Daisy Punch. I curled the petals down using a Bone Folder, then layered the flowers on top of one another. The flower is finished off with a Perennial Essence Floral Center.
So, the question of the day….have I convinced you yet, that you NEED the Tasteful Background Dies? If you’re still not sure check back tomorrow when I share the 4th card in this series. If you’re ready to order now, just click on the photos below.
