One of the class projects for my Stamp, Crop & Cruise Retreat used the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! kit called Beautiful Blues. I love the look of a classic blue and white card, but I wanted to use the kit in a different way than how it was designed. By adding Night of Navy and Basic White cardstock as well as Silver Foil Sheets, I was able to design 8 cards that incorporated different techniques and folds.
The lovely white flowers on blue is actually part of an original card from the kit. I cut it down to the size I wanted and mounted it on a Basic White piece that was embossed with the Beautiful Pattern Embossing Folder, then mounted it on Silver Foil and Night of Navy before adding it to a Thick Basic White card base. A roll of the Misty Moonlight & Silver Edges Ribbon was included in their embellishments bag.
Here’s another beautiful blue and white print from an original card in the kit. The stamp set and Night of Navy Stampin’ Spot used on all of the cards was also part of the kit.
More of the print on the previous card but this time it was cut on the diagonal and added to an embossed piece of Basic White. We added the die-cut flowers from the kit and stamped one of the sentiments on a label that was also part of the kit.
This time the embossing was done on a piece of Night of Navy. We then did some fussy cutting around a piece of the white flower on blue print. Did you notice the pretty blue dots on each of the cards? Those were part of the Beautiful Blues Kit as well.
This vertical Z-Fold card was super simple to create. For the front panel once again we embossed the Night of Navy with the Beautiful Pattern Embossing Folder. A bow was tied in the ribbon and wrapped around the embossed piece before adding it to Silver Foil. The floral image was stamped with the Night of Navy Stampin’ Spot and fussy cut before adding it to the front panel of the card.
The center flap of the card was stamped. For the back panel of the card we simply attached the die-cut sheet that is also part of the kit.
This card features the “Masking” technique. We used one of the die-cut sheets from the kit which was laid down on a piece of Basic White, then using a Blending Brush and the Night of Navy Ink we lightly rubbed the ink over the die-cut mask covering the basic white piece. When the mask was removed, it revealed this soft blue and white image. More die-cut flowers from the kit were added to the card.
Here’s a simple Fun Fold using some of the same elements used on the other cards.
Here’s the final card in this beautiful 8 card set. The blue paper is another of the original cards that we cut up for a background piece. We then cut one of the die-cut sheets into pieces and added them to the far outside panels. More floral die-cuts and stamping was done for the front fold of the card and it was all finished off with more of the Beautiful Blues Embellishments.
