Each year for Stampin’ Sisters retreat, we include a stamp set in their project bag. This years stamp set was the Happy Birthday to You Sale-a-bration stamp set. We used it and the coordinating Birthday Dies to create this set of five cards.
I thought it would be fun to make a card without the cake, so we used the dies to cut out just the flowers. These were then colored in with Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends Combo and Granny Apple Green Combo then popped up with Stampin’ Dimensional.
The take home product for this project was a bottle of Whisper White Reinker.
This card has a fun technique called “White Washing”to make the color pop on black. We stamped the cake in VersaMark and embossed with White Embossing Powder, then we used White Reinker and an Aqua Painter to flood the cake and flowers with white. Once the white ink dried we used Stampin’ Blends Markers to color over the white embossing and the white wash.
This card also uses the White Wash technique, but just on the flowers this time. Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green were the Stampin’ Blends used here.
Card 3 features various shades of petal Pink and Calypso Coral and the entire cake was cut out with the Birthday Dies.
The final card in this set also used the white Wash technique, but this time it was only used on the cake to make it look like white frosting.
