Framed Art with the Forever Blossoms Bundle

We not only create card projects for our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat, we also do some framed art projects.  Project 2 is this soft and feminine project featuring the Forever Blossoms Bundle.  All in attendance received the 8″ x 8″ frame to put tier art work in.

Stampin' Up! Forever Blossoms Bundle, Framed Art Stampin' Sisters Retreat, Stampin' StudioTo create the framed art piece, we started with a 8″ x 8″ piece of Thick Whisper White card stock and added a 6″ x 6″ piece of Petal Pink followed by a Gray Granite piece that measures 5- 3/4″ x 5-3/4″. 

Gray Granite ink was used on a 5-5/8″ x 5-5/8″ piece of Whisper White to stamp the “splotch” from the Painted Poppies stamp set as well as the sentiment from the stamp set called Enjoy Life.  A 5″ piece of Petal Pink Organdy Ribbon was added to the white layer before adding a label which was die-cut from Whisper White using the Painted Labels Dies.  The label is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The flower image from the Forever Blossoms stamp set was stamped in Memento ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock, by stamping off once.  It was then easily cut out using the coordinating Cherry Blossoms Dies.  Next the flowers were colored in with Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Combo while the stems and leaves used the Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends Combo and finally the flowers were given a glimmer coat using the Wink of Stella  The flower was then attached to the label layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adorned with Champagne Rhinestone Jewels, which everyone got a package of to use on their project and take the rest home.

A stamp for every occasion: Witty-cisms

This year for our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat, Peggy and I designed 8 different project classes.  Everyone gets the project kit and printed instructions with photos.  They can choose to bring along their own stamps and ink or go to one of two stamping stations we have set up for our guests.  Wanting a card project that would work great for many different occasions, the new stamp set called Witty-cisms is perfect for this project.

With each project kit we also gave a product gift to all our guests.  Everyone received the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon to use on their cards and take home the rest.

The cards all had the same card layout, which featured one of the images and sentiments from the stamp set and colored in with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Notice the fun texture in the background from the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder and the fun prints from the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper.  By sticking with the same layout for each card, our guests were able to make these 7 cards in about an hour.

Stampin’ Sisters Retreat: We’re so “Plaid” you’re here!

Over the past weekend my sister Peggy and I held our 14th Annual Stampin’ Sisters Retreat.  We design 8 full class projects for everyone to create throughout the entire weekend.  Each year we create a theme for the event and this year it was all about buffalo check plaid, from our shirts, to our slippers, and ear rings and even our nails.  Here’s the sign I made to welcome everyone.

Our front table was adorned with lots of little gifts and surprises for our guests.

Here is the room that we called home for the weekend, right before we opened the doors to our 92 stampers.

Everyone who paid their full retreat fee in one lump sum payment received this decorated envelope which held a package of the Noble Peacock Rhinestone Jewels.

They each received this Stampin’ Chalk Marker, which of course, was decorated in cute buffalo check packaging.

This year we had 18 guests that attended for their first time… we call them “Newbies”

 

Because our motto is “Enjoy life…Stamp something and eat chocolate!”. we gave them each a piece of chocolate perched in  it’s own special packaging.

The last recognition was for our “All-timers”  that is those individuals that have attended every single Stampin’ Sisters Retreat.  Alona & Tammy were honored for their loyalty and support of our business and received a package of lace trim.

Keeping with the buffalo check plaid theme, everyone received this tote bag, which was a huge hit.  Not only is it super cute, but it’s an insulated cooler bag with a bottle opener.

Each bag held the project kits for all 8 classes as well as the Happy Birthday to You stamp set, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, and Tear & Tape.
