Stamp Crop & Cruise: Next Destination stamp set

Did you know that I host Stampin’ Retreats on Cruise Ships?!  That’s right, I combine two of my favorite things together, Cruising and Stamping, for a week full of fun by host an event I call Stamp, Crop & Cruise.  I thought you ‘d like to see the projects we made at my Stamp, Crop & Cruise to the Mexican Riviera that we did this past January.

I designed this fun piece of luggage which is a slide on sleeve that fits over a Paper Pumpkin Box.  Pecan Pie cardstock that was distressed by using Pecan Pie Ink and a Blending Brush to give a worn and weathered look.  Early Espresso was used for the handle and the corners of the suitcase as well as Brushed Metallic Dots.  I created labels to go on the suitcase by punching strips with the Happy Labels Pick a Punch and the Next Destination stamp set.

Our cruise ports for the trip were Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta, so I printed off little logos of these cities on my computer and we did a little “fussy Cutting” and attached these to the suitcase.  The cover slides off the box, and all the cards and envelopes we made throughout the week fit into the box, so it was a perfect storage container as well as a decorative piece.  I’ve got many Stamp Crop & Cruise projects to show you so be sure to check back this week to see them all.

Stampin’ Sisters Retreat: Cutest Cows Cards

I’m sad to say, this is the final class project from our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat which was held in Rockford Illinois on March 1-3rd.  My sister Peggy Murwin and I have been hosting this retreat for 18 years and let me just say it is a huge blast!  For the final project I designed these 4 cards featuring the Cutest Cows stamp set and everyone got a roll of the Black & White Gingham Ribbon.

When everyone came into the stamp room Sunday morning, they found this super cool VW Van Box at their spot.  Inside the box was a package of Water painters to use on their project and then take home.

Each of the cards were stamped with Memento Ink and colored in with Stampin’ Blends, then the grass and the sky were water colored using Old Olive and Balmy Blue ink with the Water Painters.

Here’s a quick peek at most of the gifts and giveaways everyone received.  Big retreats like this are the things that truly fill my soul.  It is our goal to spend every penny we collect for retreat on the event.  Be watching for information on our 2025 Stampin’ Sisters Retreat.  Once i get the contract from the hotel, we’ll be posting out a Save the Date notice to everyone.  I hope to see you there next year.

Stampin’ Sisters Retreat: Lifetime of Love Cards

Simple and understated, is what comes to mind when I look at these cards created for our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat.  I used the Lifetime of Love Dies and paired it with the sentiments from the Perennial Postage stamp set and the Scalloped Contours Dies.

The background of each card is embossed with the Softly Sophisticated Embossing (which was part of a FREE bundle during Sale-a-bration. Everyone got a package of the Petal Pink & Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems to embellish their cards and take the rest home.

For the first 2 cards, the oval flower piece was die-cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, then colored in by using the Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend on the oval.  The flower and leaves were colored by using Blending Brushes with Calypso Coral and Pretty Peacock ink.

The third and forth cards used the circle die-cut from Pretty Peacock cardstock.
