You already know how fantastic Stampin’ Up! is at coordinating our products.  You know, like how our paper matches our inks and many stamp sets have dies or punches that coordinate.  Well hang onto your hat, because now we’ve got dies that not only cut out images from the coordinating stamp set, but from the designer paper as well!  Yes, that’s right!  The new Birthday Memories Suite starts out with a fabulous 23 piece stamp set called Birthday Delivery, which is perfect for birthdays.  Then of course they created the Birthday Friends Framelits Dies, which is a set of 10 dies that cut out critters and cakes and banners and more.  Next is the stunning Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper, which has bright, party ready colors and images that have a nostalgic feel to them.  It makes me think of bedtime story books when I was a kid.

And look at this adorable party favor made with some of the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper.  This also shows two other products from the suite.  Did you see the Balloon Honeycomb Embellishment in the bear’s balloon bouquet?  Or how about the Pacific Point Stitched Edge Ribbon attached to the pinwheel?  You bet, those are new to the suite too.

Stampin' Up! Cake Crazy stamp set, Tasty Treats DSP< Stampin' Studio

Let me show you how to make a super, fantastic Birthday card using the Cake Crazy stamp set.  One of the best things about this stamp set is that it’s a 2 step stamp set.  Let me explain what I mean.  Take a look at the bottom layer of the cake.  Do you see how it’s got a two toned argyle (diamond) pattern with “squiggly frosting” on top as well as Watermelon Wonder colored “dots” between all of those little diamonds.  Oh, not to mention the “cake plate and the “balls” on top of the squiggles.  Hang on, don’t panic, it’s much easier than it looks.  I stamped the first diamond image in Pool Party ink, then the second diamond image with the “squiggles” in Bermuda Bay ink.  The images in this stamp set line up perfectly.  The “dotd and the balls” and the plate are all one image which was stamped in Watermelon onder ink.  Each cake layer has multiple parts that you can choose to use or not depending on how fancy you want your cake to be.

Measurements: Bermuda Bay: 5-1/2″ x 7-1/4″ scored at 4-1/4″, Watermelon Wonder: 5-1/4″ x 2-3/4″, Whisper White: 5″ x 2-1/2″  and 5-1/4″ x 1″, Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper 5″ x 3/4″.

Tips: Be sure to start out stamping near the lower edge of the cardstock and stack your cake layers close together to get them to fit.

Sneak Peek: Wood Textures Suite

It’s Sneak Peek Saturday and time for me to share another wonderful suite of products from the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog which premiers on June 1st.  This suite is called the Wood Textures Suite and it’s amazing to say the least.  First off there’s the Wood Words stamp set which is a bit rustic and worn with some pretty fonts.  Add to that the Wood Crate Framelits Dies which cut out 5 different shapes found in the stamp set as well as the adorable wood crate shown here.  The crate is big enough to hold a set of 3″ x 3″ note cards.  Did you notice the wood print paper?  Oh yes, we’ve got the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack which features 24 different wood designs and colors which are perfect for create making or card embellishing.  The last new product in this suite is the 1/4″ Copper Trim, which was used to tie up the bag of note cards.  This trim is fabulous as it’s got a wonderful rich texture to it and also a bit of metallic shine- you are so going to love this.  In fact I predict this ribbon will go on back order soon after the catalog starts.

Here you can see that the crate was stamped with a floral image from the Wood Words stamp set prior to the crate being assembled.  It makes a great box for party favors when you add a festive flag.
